01/7/2020 11:33 | Yep. HOpefully the market will begin to cotton on to the fact that the Chinese are going to love this and will licence the technology. DOnt quite understand how the market hasn't appreciated the potential scale of this. | 5070481

01/7/2020 10:15 | Dip buyers loading up around these levels and no wonder. Game-changing news just a week ago and a chance to pick up stock on the cheap. "The successful completion of the fuel combustion testing is a major milestone for this flagship conversion project and represents a very important step in the program towards achieving financial close." "This project is the world's first example of a coal-fired power station being repurposed to run on 100% waste derived fuel pellets and the results of this test will potentially have material implications for the way plastic waste, and aging coal fired power stations, is managed globally in the future." "the results of this test will potentially have material implications for the way plastic waste, and aging coal fired power stations, is managed globally in the future." "we always believed that the successful completion of this large-scale testing will open up a huge new market globally for MHPS and Atlantis for future similar conversions." "The testing couldn't have gone better and we are delighted that the results pave the way for this successful project and huge global, future opportunities." | x54v
30/6/2020 19:47 | Yes Atlantis have a similar project they can dust off if tidal lagoons come back into favour. | clabburn

29/6/2020 12:27 | It had found an air-pocket on the way down it seems as it has risen off its low. The wave of selling earlier is probably good as we establish a new baseline to spring the share price back up from. | mach100
29/6/2020 10:51 | Today's share price movements are simply down to profit taking after last weeks near 100% rise. Entirely understandable in this fickle market. | mdchand
29/6/2020 09:29 | Company update released today hxxps://simecatlanti My take is that it's a pretty promising update. Nothing new in there but cash on hand being flat compared with this time last year was better than I expected. My best guess is cash burn of £4m (a very rough estimate) which feels very small in the face of such huge potential. I guess the share price move today is the market spooked by the delayed release of full results and maybe a fear that bad numbers are being kicked down the road but I dont see anything to worry about. I would view a dip here is a good opportunity to average down for anyone feeling like they missed the boat after last week's rise. | clabburn
26/6/2020 15:01 | Catching the eye this week was renewable energy firm SIMEC Atlantis | spurslegend1
25/6/2020 17:30 | Timely as there's a major piece on BBC news channel tonight about British plastic waste being sent to Turkey for "recycling" where surprise surprise it's being dumped on an industrial scale on tips and simply set alight - with acrid black poisonous smoke drifting across towns in southern Turkey. Tesco packaging from the UK highlighted in the article with interview featuring a justified irate local. Our government and companies who are responsible for plastic waste should hold their heads in shame and need to get a grip and a sustainable solution quick! Absolutely disgusting state of affairs. | jpuff
24/6/2020 20:04 | Totally agree HyperAl but will it happen? or will the real world prevail and solutions like here be urgently required? | jpuff
24/6/2020 19:45 | thought i heard it on the proactive chat today. WIll have another listen as it seemed a little high. DOes anyone have the predicted costs to hand? GOt it. £180-200M. Pretty quick payback based on forecasted EBITDA then | 5070481
24/6/2020 19:31 | Am I right to think it is £250m needed to convert the coal-fired plant to the plastic pellets? | 5070481
24/6/2020 17:45 | stay long. | blueball
24/6/2020 17:20 | Good news guys if this keeps going the way it has in the last two days I will be cutting down on plastic (credit card) spending and using cash. Crisis averted! | mach100
24/6/2020 17:19 | What a great couple of days in here boys | gooner1886
24/6/2020 15:10 | At the moment HyperAl it seems the lesser of two evils to me, but like you I'm not totally comfortable with the concept. Making hydrogen from waste plastic via gasification is another option, but when the hydrogen is removed (prior to a syngas water gas shift reaction to increased H2 yield) you are still left with CO2 to deal with. What else can you do with the waste plastic? We are addicted to the stuff! The third world seem to be happy with disposing of it often into river courses where it washes out to the oceans into someone else's back yard or beach or worse becomes micro plastics which plankton feed on! The developed world also containerise it and send it to the Far East to Indonesia and China - where it has turned up in jungle areas as huge tips. A solution of a sort is needed now or else we can the stuff and use cardboard and paper packages which I'm ok with! | jpuff
24/6/2020 14:56 | Only once they raised capital via placing. Others... issuance with bonds. The company look after shareholders to avoid dilutions. Well done! | deanmatlazin
24/6/2020 13:56 | SIMEC Atlantis Energy @simecatlantis.52m The Uskmouth Conversion Project can stimulate the life extension of other coal fired power stations in the UK and beyond. By converting coal power stations to run on the new sustainable fuel, we can reuse existing infrastructure and retain jobs in the industry. | someuwin |
