24/6/2020 12:56 | And I was on the brink of selling these last week at a loss!! | rjtmmx
24/6/2020 12:30 | This share is highly illiquid. But, I can see why 'hot' money from PHE / ITM etc is making an appearance. Normally with Simec the buying reverses as people get bored, so will be interesting to see if the share price holds onto these gains..... | mdchand
24/6/2020 11:49 | They are certainly hammering the media rounds! Never seen so many appearances in such as short space of time. Feels a bit like stock pumping ahead of a capital raise going into end of year results but Im not complaining. The company is still heavily undervalued and its more a case of getting back to reasonable level backed by solid progress rather than inflating it artificially. | clabburn

24/6/2020 10:53 | Hyper Al - I dont disagree with your point. I got into this stock because of the tidal tech and strongly believe we need to move away from burning stuff to create power as fast as possible. The reality is though that we will need thermal generation for at least another 10-15 years and conversions like this are far better than the huge new build gas stations being approved in the UK right now. Likewise, the plastic waste problem isnt going anywhere fast and this is a necessary solution until we find a way to turn the tap off further upstream and develop alternative materials. This wont be easy - the sort of waste they are talking about using at Uskmouth is things like tyres and car dashboards where there aren't obvious alternatives. For me its a case of not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good but I do understand where you are coming from. Regarding the tidal business, I think they would dearly love to be able to focus on this but when financial support was pulled by the government they had to diversify to survive. Im personally quite impressed that they have managed to make as much progress with tidal as they have. Developing the new hub and a 3MW turbine (with a 2MW turbine in the works) despite having no safe route to market is significant and I honestly dont believe they could have done any more with this part of their business than they have. | clabburn
24/6/2020 08:36 | Exciting times. In terms of medium to long term valuation I use DRAX as a sort of benchmark. They have a big thermal business and diversified recently by adding storage and hydro. Their revenue is close to £4 billion a year. Atlantis could be at that scale by 2025 I reckon. | clabburn

24/6/2020 07:17 | Plastic waste is a real issue in the oceans and this disposal technique is better I'd say. Coupled with CCS in future would be better and feasible | jpuff

24/6/2020 07:15 | This could well be a multi-billion company in the making. | someuwin
24/6/2020 06:36 | Stock Watch - Simec Atlantis Renewables group Simec Atlantis Energy surged after tests found burning pellets made of waste could fuel a power station in Wales. AIM-listed Simec wants to convert the former coal-powered Uskmouth plant to burn waste made from plastics and cardboard that wouldn’t be recycled otherwise. Tests using facilities with the same conditions to those at Uskmouth found the pellets could burn continuously and generate power. Shares shot 36.4 per cent higher, up 4p, to 15p. | x54v

23/6/2020 12:53 | Aye, fair enough someuwin. Perhaps just a little more churn needed before a decent leg up. | walter walcarpets |
