25/4/2013 13:54 | what a great article cestnous - thanks. | dasv
25/4/2013 12:22 | Excellent article cestnous, cheers. I think that as soon as SID establish the additional funding for accelerated growth from third parties - i.e confirming no dilution - that the share price would react upwards extremely sharp-ish. In the meantime we still seem to have a few small sellers around (down 0.5p today on only around £40k traded). | rivaldo
19/4/2013 20:55 | Thanx for the post Riv | owenski

19/4/2013 12:35 | No thx, I'll stick with SID, which appears to be steadily bouncing back now. News: "Silverdell praised at Valero Pembroke Refinery - 2012 Refining Turnaround 12th April 2012 The 2012 Turnaround was the safest major Turnaround completed at Pembroke Refinery, the role that Silverdell played played in achieving this, has been praised by everyone at Valero after passing a significant milestone on the journey to zero safety incidents at the refinery, with the safety performance in the Turnaround being achieved by everyone on site. Silverdell played a key part in this achievement. Maintenance and project work completed in the Turnaround has set the refinery at Pembroke up for a reliable campaign over the coming months and years and the support that Silverdell has provided in completing this work has also been highly recognised by Valero." | rivaldo

15/4/2013 13:40 | Yep, good to see SID bucking the market and continuing its recovery. Redhills are marketing themselves further in North America: Extract: "In addition, AMERICANA exhibitor Redhills, part of the UK-based Silverdell Environmental Group, is eager to build on its recent success in Canada. The group signed a contract in January of this year with Hydro Québec, one of Canada's largest electricity generators, to decommission Hydro Québec's Tracy thermal power plant and oversee the parts re-sale. The UK and Canada's common value of pursuing low-carbon solutions and environmental services has served both British and Canadian companies well, as companies from both countries pursue collaborative opportunities across borders." | rivaldo
15/4/2013 10:45 | Nice move up in a falling market today.. | gswredland
15/4/2013 09:33 | For those not on Twitter I thought I would update that SID are tweeting their service offering consistently every day, example below Silverdell @Silverdell_U Delivering A Complete Range Of Construction Solutions. From the stock I hold SID are by far the most regular tweets. Not sure if that is good or bad news though....!!!! :-// Hopefully they see it as a serious marketing attempt and not desperation. FTR I do hold | pj 1
15/4/2013 07:37 | It'd be a shame if this got bought out in the near future while still at relatively low multiples. We could do with them getting the acquisition fully bedded in, leveraging the business opportunities that presents, and waiting for the economy to pick up to get a fairer price for the business and it's potential. | 1nf3rn0
13/4/2013 10:47 | Yet another comment on "rumours" in today's Times..... "A solid trading update from Silverdell, the environmental support services group and subject of recent takeover speculation, spurred the shares 6.5% to 16.5p" Techno | techno20
13/4/2013 00:24 | From today's IC... Environmental services business Silverdell (SID) says first half trading has been strong and revenues are expected to come in at around £62m, double last year's level. The company's order book stands at £210m. Buy. | techno20
12/4/2013 15:58 | D1 as eeza explained pretty well really. If you try and put the order thro as a market order then you get quoted the bid offer spread prices. TD will try and better that by getting inside the spread but aren't always able to. If you do a dummy trade and don't like what the market offers you. Then if your not desperate wait a short while and place a fill or kill order at a price to suit you. It doesn't always work many times it fails and the order is "killed" but you can frequently get inside the spread. I've had a number of trades that have shown up as sells when i have actually bought, so it can be beneficial Assuming you want to buy then i've found the best time to operate fill and kill inside the spread is when there's just been a number of sell orders processed it's particularly helpful if the sell orders total are a little above the buy order total. The mm's like to keep their books balanced so they'll let you have some on the cheap so to speak. If you got level 2 i think you can see the forward order book but i'm not so interested in that as i rarely trade but invest for the longer term so i don't pay the L2 subscription. Opposite process if you want to sell. I think some internet brokers don't offer this option, you'd have to ask or check their website. That's my experience fwiw. WC | woodcutter
12/4/2013 12:47 | It's 'Fill or Kill' Basically means that you put a limit order in which is killed if it can't be filled within a few minutes. | eeza
12/4/2013 12:37 | Woodcutter, How does the fire and kill differ from the price being quoted as a market order? | deanowls1 |
