11/2/2009 07:30 | It is hard to have imagined that there could be a better outcome. I always had faith in HC and also that Mr Kasaev would be the key to the quagmire we were in as stated in my previous posts. I was also completely convinced of the ability of the board to achieve their objectives in exploration and to generate the best possible value from up and down stream activities. Igor Kasaev is a very powerful business man and I feel his background has ensured he has many strong friends in the right places. I hope for a sustained recovery from this point forward. | a3477681
11/2/2009 07:16 | There it is $115.4 million (the "Sibir Debt") + $192m Orton Oil Debt = $307.4m. + Sibir agree to pay all expenses for the property including Mr. T's aeroplane. Less outlay, but less security as the bank has first call on the proceeds from the real estate sales. Unfortunately I feel that this just buys Mr. T some time and that if things do not materially improve over the next 270 days he will return cap in hand once more. | miamisteve

09/2/2009 17:39 | Oil prices rise as OPEC delays production projects Oil rises above $41 as OPEC announces it's postponing 35 of 150 new oil and gas projects Chris Kahn, AP Energy Writer Monday February 9, 2009, 11:54 am EST NEW YORK (AP) -- Oil prices rose sharply Monday as OPEC announced member nations will delay dozens of planned oil production projects due to falling prices. Related Quotes Light, sweet crude for March delivery rose $1.35 to $41.52 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. OPEC Secretary General Abdalla el-Badri said the group would postpone 35 of 150 new oil and gas projects and would likely fall short of its goal to raise production capacity by 5 million barrels per day by 2012, according to a research note by analyst Addison Armstrong. El-Badri also said that OPEC is close to completing its previously announced cut of 4.2 million barrels per day, Armstrong said. The announcement may boost crude prices, but "they're only hurting themselves," said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Alaron Trading Corp. Any spike in crude prices because of production declines from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries will make it harder for economies to recover and for demand to pick up naturally, Flynn said. "And when demand picks up, they won't have the production capacity to meet it," he said. OPEC produces about 40 percent of the world's crude oil. Evidence that energy demand will remain depressed for some time continued to roll in Monday. | need_2_b_brave
