06/2/2009 08:54 | SO NEWS THIS AFTERNOON I TAKE IT, AS SOON AS THE RUSSIANS WAKE UP | need_2_b_brave
05/2/2009 23:37 | from the ft 04/02: Sibir Energy eased 0.6 per cent to 155¾p following a JPMorgan warning to clients that the company's main shareholder, Shalva Tchigirinsky, might be forced to sell his stake. This follows the termination of a deal that would have seen Sibir buy a property portfolio from the Russian businessman. "Mr Tchigirinsky might still face margin calls on his debt position," the bank warned. "A potential Sibir Energy share overhang remains a considerable risk." | banj
05/2/2009 22:31 | Good luck for tomorrow. Watching with interest how they have elected to resolve this issue. | miamisteve
05/2/2009 17:06 | need2b Perhaps we have the answer to your L2 2wobbles. There were some big trades right at the end for 150k @156 & 160k @ 156.10 without time stamp and one for 100k at 155.75 at 16:06:24 showing on L2 but not on the standard trades. Although they were lower than the bid at the time could they have been buys especially since they appear to have been entered on the sly. Perhaps someone decided to jump in having got wind of tomorrow's news! Surely that couldn't happen could it now. May just have been sells by someone whose nerve broke. | a3477681

04/2/2009 17:37 | Pleased to hear your progress Davron. We have missed your contributions. I share your enthusiasm for SBE, and now looking at GFM seriously too so thank you for your opinion which I value :-)). As for the overpaid social workers in charge of our Great country, what can I say. Amateurs indeed. It is probably best I say nought further. :-( | banj
04/2/2009 16:44 | Banj, yes ,I do still have my GFM and expect it to rise in price along with sbe in the coming months. Not posting much at moment as I am out of my home following floods last December. Pleased that 2008 is over, my worst year not only for investments but also had cancer, now all looking good and the flooded house. Despite Gordon Brown and his lack of economic ability I think we will start to see things improve in 2009. | davron8
04/2/2009 16:33 | Russia Fin Min: Not Worried About Impact Of Russia Rating Cut LONDON -(Dow Jones)- The Russian government expects "no serious consequences" from the ratings downgrade to BBB, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said Wednesday. "As for the consequences, we do not expect any serious consequences from the downgrade," Kudrin said at a press conference in London's financial center. "We are more concerned about the global financial crisis," Kudrin said. Earlier Wednesday, Fitch Ratings downgraded Russia sovereign debt to BBB with a negative outlook from BBB+. The Russian finance chief also said while the government wasn't responsible for private sector risks, it would focus its support on helping those areas where it was most likely to have a positive impact on jobs. "Our principles are not sector specific. We will be supporting enterprises from various industries, various sectors of the economy, where we need to create the jobs and also certain regions," Kudrin said. | coco

03/2/2009 09:07 | Ammons Ok, if you did that early yesterday you made a nice little profit. I am going for a longer term. I gained a lot of insight from the AGM so for me these worries about Henry, and what will happen, if this that and the other occur whilst understandable are not of too much concern to me. Of course there are always risks and no more so than in Russia now, but these troubles were not caused by the company so much as forced on it and Henry's action to stand by the man that rescued the company a few years ago will gain admiration by the Russians including in the highest circles of power. I think it must suit the City Council to have a well run company running the refinery and downstream efficiently. I am hoping they will have found a way to relieve Mr T's position. Mr K may well have stepped in too as the properties concerned are in prestigious locations and high quality, so even at depressed prices now would present a wonderful buying opportunity. I felt a great team spirit at the AGM and Henry and his deputy Stuard Detmer and the company have shown their operational capabilities. The Russian partners know this level of achievement is not easily gained in Russia and that fact combined with their reliance on Russian personnel with knowledge and deep understanding of how to do business there is why they are and will be successful. | a3477681
03/2/2009 08:27 | you call it in and out of stock.. buy on rumours and sell on news.. | 3mahal
03/2/2009 08:00 | Yes, I sold but I still like the company very much and will buy back once I have seen the circular and some of the dust resulting from it has settled. Unless there is something unpleasant in the circular regarding the destination of those shares or resignations or similar. Fingers crossed there isnt................ | ammons
03/2/2009 07:41 | Ammons Have you sold out then? | a3477681
03/2/2009 07:01 | bethany3, Absolutely. Cameron called the existing shareholder structure "the company's key intangible asset". Now that key intangible asset might be in ruins. I hope not but it might be. I'd rather buy at a higher price once I have read the circular than now with the uncertainty. | ammons |
