M&S shares rising - so some retailers in lower end of shoe market (like shoeZone) are rising today.

Retail prices will rocket if open in March.

That is all Shoe Zone may be worth, if their average selling price is £11!

It is not the comparison, it is the fact she is basing her forecasts on the assumption that stores will remain closed until the end of May.

LOL - only you could compare Ted Baker to shoeZone.

I think Doc Martens might be a better match.

They might need a chain of retail outlets

(Market Cap £5b now - shoeZone mrk Cap about the equivalent of 5 packets salt and vinegar crisps)

bookbroker: "closure of large number of stores".
Thats a good thing for shoeZone - it gives them massive leverage over
what RENT they will be willing to pay for shops.
This on top of the new way of accounting that shows big losses due to rents
can only help shoeZone get a better deal.

Its odds on that shops will be open some time in March.. and that
ShoeZones rents will be a lot lower or they will open shops for the same rent
but in even more prominent locations

Boom

They did, and if the lockdown of retail continues they will be making a further loss in 2021, just do not think that online suits the footwear industry. I see closure of large numbers of stores permanently soon.

"Shoe Zone sells 16 million pairs of shoes per annum at an average retail price of GBP11."

Wow, that's some pollution!

Yes, if you know and have the temperament to do that. Not everyone knows or does though and they will sadly lose. Manipulation exists - that is what I wanted to say.

Back to Shoezone - I am hopeful for more than £1. This is my biggest holding now - it has low debt, committed management and some good opportunities. I can imagine that this could exceed previous highs in a few years time. But it is the dividend I want - I'd settle for 20% per annum but expect more.

chinahere: But that is to your advantage. If they manipulate the share then the share will fall or rise too much and you can then make money due to their over reactions.
You just have to keep your eye on the ball...

In shoezone I think the ball says £1

The sad thing is that Ramps or De-ramps actually do change the price on small caps as PIs get swayed and buy or sell. There is big money to be made - for instance pre-spreadbetting on a stock before the manipulators go in. That's why people are paid to do it.

A few years back I thought that the paid idea was all rubbish but I have since realised that there are a lot of manipulators on share boards sadly.

antonagis: There is nothing wrong with only posting negative posts. It makes a market. Live and let live. There would be no value shares if there were no sellers. Just let him be.

NETCURTAINS - I'd love to know who to write to but when you look at KEN CHEUNGS posts there is nobody else in his league. Most derampers have the odd stock they want to ramp up. This guy is posting all day every day and each post is a negative on numerous chats. Take a look. It's actually unbelievable.

Difficult not to see that you are going to see large scale of the stores in this company.

Do you have an address for this work? Or is it invitation only?

Anyone else looked at KEN CHEUNGS posts on numerous ADVFN chats? Every single one is a deramp post without exception. Beware of him and THOMAS EARNSHAW. One and the same paid deramper.

Anyone want to hazard a guess for when share price will reach £1?

I'm going for £1 by August.

80p by June.

Probably miles wrong. But that is my feeling.

Ken Chung: 12 million people have been vaccinated. By the time the shops have opened in end of March it will be over 20 million.
This is not like last summer when price reached £1 on opening.
This is way better than that.
This is the start of the end of the shutdown .

Your mind is stuck in 2020.
This is 2021 where that £1 a share is much more reasonable a bet.
And longer term £1.50.
And longer term still £2.00

Anyone fancy going into a Covid air contaminated shop and trying on Covid contaminated items that other contaminated people have tried on?

I doubt it.

Lemmings and mushrooms only.

Thanks boonkoh: I'm glad someone is as pessimistic as I'm optimistic. That is brilliant news!
We should have quite an interesting message board with you here.
Thanks

And if you go back further, no RNS in March/April last year to update investors what they were doing about COVID. Unless it was hidden in the RNS about cancelling dividends? Why trust these numpties to deliver a return for your money in their shares?
