Black box warning is the most serious indication of potential risks and is very bad for Roche offering a product in an area where treatment safety is absolutely critical

Market were probably expecting approval with no black box warning. What would the share price be here if there had been no FDA approval?
Shire's ADYNOVI, expected to be approved in Europe within 60 days.

In the H1 report haemophilia accounted for 20% of total sales and this is just one drug from that sector so market reaction seems excessive. Clearly the market knew of the Roche approval well in advance hence the daily falls for months now. RE: Roche - I would not want to take a drug with a black box warning!

Ah right, thought the move was Roche related.

As most have been of late.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved Roche's Hemlibra, a new medicine for haemophilia A that the Swiss drugmaker is counting on to help to offset eroding sales of older medicines going off patent.

BUT the FDA slapped Roche's medicine with a black box warning for blood clots, giving a boost to shares in rival Shire, which leads the $11 billion haemophilia drug market with its medicines.

So this was all to do with one rival drug it seems - FDA has slapped Roche's equivalent with a black box warning

Can't see much of a shareprice reaction stateside...roughly -1% since London close.

'Specialty biopharmaceutical company Shire was boosted by an upbeat note from Bernstein'
A 6% rise just because of an upbeat note from Bernie?
What a load of tosh!
Someone has heard a whisper at the Jefferies Healthcare conference in London today.

Need a close over 3,750 in the next couple of trading sessions to break the downtrend.

Bit of a sector bounce today, which seems concentrated on
of those that sold off heavily recently. Although GSK is not participating!.

Very difficult to judge whether it's a one day wonder or the start
of a more sustained price recovery

Most people's averages here will be 4000p+ so no option but to hold. It is the selling on every small spike that causes the frequent pull backs.

Another false dawn ? Fingers crossed it's the real thing.

Well done EI :-)

Bit of luck for me too . Was supposed to be flying down to Toulouse today. Put it back until tomorrow a week ago and the good old french have called a national 24 hour strike for today . All flights over french airspace cancelled thursday.
