Listening to the total debt and spending review I don't think we will have to worry about gold dropping to far.The world is going to be in some much debt.

Just totted up the expiring Dec gold cals on Comex with strikes at $1800 or more – about 150,000. This is why gold has been smashed, so that they expire worthless!

The bull phase as returned only this time the price will move northwards at a quicker pace the big bowl we have been in for the last 10 yrs is nearing complete and this will be the last leg up to the rim , it will over shoot by a few pence then it will make a triangle pattern and then move up again as gold price will have moved northwards by then.

Plus the latest wave down....18.10p to 12.625p (down 5.475p) was almost the same length as the first wave down from the high....20.45p to 14.625p (5.825p). So 12.625p compared with equality of 12.275p. Pretty close.

The price will probably rise to 14p today as the people who paniced in the last couple of days will buy back in.

And the MM will rub their hands

We are at the bottom of the negative trend line for the GDX gold miners index right now. Similarly for gold itself. 1800 must draw the line under this recent drop, or the whole bullish scenario will be under threat.

Once reality bites again, we should be alright. The economy is actually in tatters and is going to need a lot of further stimulus.
