27/2/2020 19:11 | Interestingly a repeat of the 2008 (53%) fall in the Dow from 29568 would result in the Dow arresting at the 'exact' 2008 pre crash high of 13895 | trader365
27/2/2020 17:56 | And would, arguably, still be overvalued at that level. Today is not proving to be a bloodbath on the US markets. S&P500 down about 0.75% as I type. | jc2706
27/2/2020 16:50 | In 2008 prices fell almost on a daily basis regardless of positive/negative news, gold price or production numbers. We may enter that cycle again. 338 - re your post 32762 "2020 is not 2008" How right you are, 2020 Dow has just seen the biggest weekly loss in history, the US is a blood bath today In 2008 the Dow fell from a high of 13895 to 6470 - a fall of 53% = 7425 points It has much further to fall now If the Dow falls 53% from its high of 29568 that would result in a 15673 point drop | trader365
27/2/2020 16:28 | okay, we will see the impact of Annual Result to the chart tomorrow... last 3 minutes to buy/sell more or hold before the result... see you tomorrow | 338
27/2/2020 16:10 | Obviously havnt priced in the forward sold ounces but you get my point. | sjm123
27/2/2020 16:08 | Also 388, Average price of gold last year was sub 1400 dollar. This year we’re looking at 1550 plus (low est). That’s $12.6 million extra if production stays the same. Another figure which I believe will increase dramatically. | sjm123
27/2/2020 15:50 | I didn’t mean to dismiss technicals as an entry point, I meant say for example Shanta announces the NPV to the new mine, which could surprises yourself and the market positively... The current pattern Shanta were trading within would cease. | sjm123

27/2/2020 15:23 | Sjm123 I would disagree that technicals are out the window when good news comes in. Its been very evident many times here in SHG when there's been little or no reaction to good news while technicals or sentiment are negative. Technical traders use many common indicators and oscillators to buy and sell, therefore even with small caps T/A becomes a Self-fulfilling prophecy. 338 If I knew where a given stock was going to go I'd be top of the rich list. Nobody can predict the future. I simply follow the direction of averages and indicators. I'm then swimming with the tide instead of trying to predict when/if the tide is going to change. At the moment the SHG tide is down. How low it will be down is the unknown, I simply wait for the averages and indicators to signal a tide change and swim with it rather than try to predict it. While the weekly chart may still offer some positives it is subject to higher volatility and therefore requires larger risk. A change of tide materialises in a shorter time frame first. The weekly time frame is showing the largest weekly fall since June 2017. | trader365
27/2/2020 14:44 | trader365 should also present the weekly chart of SHG, which is still healthy... | 338
27/2/2020 14:42 | very good question Sjm123: where does trader365 see SHG heading from here? | 338
27/2/2020 14:32 | Always like to hear others strategies and opinions but trader with small cap stocks I think charts are out the window when good news comes would you agree? You mentioned your technicals have turned negative, where do you see the stock heading from here? | sjm123
27/2/2020 14:15 | I think you are mistaken. I merely pointed out where you could find a few high yield stocks in response to your question "Where else would they pay the dividends that he’s been going on about from?" I certainly wouldn't buy anything until I receive a technical signal to do so | trader365
27/2/2020 14:04 | trader365, it will be interesting to compare with charts of big dividend shares that you mentioned yesterday and how you suggested to buy them based on chart reading... | 338
27/2/2020 13:55 | 338 why would you think a BB post would have an effect on a share price? Especially something as large as RDSB. Interested to know how you arrive at your 100p target here? The pullback to 10p that I mentioned, and my scaling out are based on technicals, which, for the moment have turned negative as you can see from this chart.... | trader365
27/2/2020 13:37 | 338 lets not forget Barrick are soon to be major shareholders. Quite nice to have a large company like that hovering around in the background. Wonder what they might think in a few years time? | sjm123
27/2/2020 13:19 | well, my price target is not for 1 month Dividend, start of Singida and Kenya will be game changers... Shanta can steadily make progress towards these when PoG stay above $1500 and gold production above 80,000 oz When PoG hit $2000... 1 pound here we come... spend £110k for 1 million SHG could make you a millionaire in 2022... | 338
27/2/2020 13:03 | 338, be realistic. | 1 pound here we come
27/2/2020 11:57 | Admittedly it was a quick calc but shouldn’t be far out. Certainly not enough for a near 9 percent drop in two days. | sjm123
27/2/2020 11:35 | I take it that you are not going by the buys/sells on bulletin board sites? These guess whether it is a buy or sell based on the mid price. Frequently buys are below the mid and sells above the mid. In addition, delayed trades are often used to obfuscate in the same way. The only realistic way in which you can work out buy/sell volume is to do it yourself- not 100% accurate but better than the boards. | jc2706
27/2/2020 11:13 | Something odd is going on 338. As I said bought value has been above sold on today and yesterday... yet share price down heavy? Baffles me. | sjm123
27/2/2020 11:06 | I can't buy 60k online and must pay 11p at 10k | 338
27/2/2020 09:39 | What a gift right now. Well, what are you waiting for? | 1 pound here we come
27/2/2020 09:06 | agreed on all the above. Too many exciting developments due in 2020 IMO to be out of SHG and pog holding up reasonably well IMO...DYOR but am with 338 and his 45p! DYOR | qs99
27/2/2020 08:17 | 338 absolutely. Don’t suppose anyone happened to catch Eric’s interview on proactive investor? His face when talking about announcing the NPV of the new mine. When he drops that bombshell in ‘the next few months’ any recent swings will be short lived. You can see his excitement in wanting to announce it. So many share price catalysts coming up. | sjm123 |
