I suspect that gold is going to double in price anyway - I don't think that there will be any particular link to Trump (who I believe will be re-elected based on the fact that the Democrats don't seem to be able to present a coordinated front). Unfortunately the world is currently run by complete imbeciles. It seems to get worse as the years roll on.

Trump will make the price of gold fly. If he is re-elected gold may well double in price. Just imagine that unrelenting bubble of an ego thrashing the global economy for all he's worth.

Issue of shares is about 0.8% of total. Against the upgrade in Singida JORC some performance pay shares is insignificant.

I would say it is more likely more positive market sentiment this afternoon. Centamin was down 3% today.

Here's What We Think About Shanta Gold Limited's (LON:SHG) CEO Pay

Eric Zurrin has been the CEO of Shanta Gold Limited (LON:SHG) since 2017. This analysis aims first to contrast CEO compensation with other companies that have similar market capitalization. Then we'll look at a snap shot of the business growth. Third, we'll reflect on the total return to shareholders over three years, as a second measure of business performance. This process should give us an idea about how appropriately the CEO is paid.

Check out our latest analysis for Shanta Gold

How Does Eric Zurrin's Compensation Compare With Similar Sized Companies?
At the time of writing, our data says that Shanta Gold Limited has a market cap of UK£86m, and reported total annual CEO compensation of US$768k for the year to December 2018.

While we always look at total compensation first, we note that the salary component is less, at US$290k. We further remind readers that the CEO may face performance requirements to receive the non-salary part of the total compensation.

We took a group of companies with market capitalizations below US$200m, and calculated the median CEO total compensation to be US$327k.

As you can see, Eric Zurrin is paid more than the median CEO pay at companies of a similar size, in the same market. However, this does not necessarily mean Shanta Gold Limited is paying too much. We can get a better idea of how generous the pay is by looking at the performance of the underlying business.

I wasn't talking about the hedge they have in place. They over estimated the reserves by 45000 oz which then had to retracted . It was posted ,very discretely, in results about 3 - 6 months ago and also mentioned by Eric during a presentation

jasper,

It's never a mistake to insure against downside risk in the gold price when you have debt to service!

The CEO states that the remaining hedge will be eliminated at NLGM over 2020 as the debt dissipates and that they will then have no further need to hedge.

Singida is a wholly different project and much will depend upon the success (or otherwise) of it's IPO on the Tanzanian exchange. It will certainly be very interesting to learn the terms and resulting attributable % of earnings that will accrue to SHG.

I hope they have got it right this time and don't have to take off 45000 oz . Surely they have learned from their mistake.

About $900 AISC and $675 cash from memory: the difference is cost of exploration and upgrading power station from memory, I've been watching this one for some time (since, before I was a PI, my investment adviser bought me some convertible notes that had a strike price of 35p actually. One of the reasons I fired him!)
