Hi nic yes was wondering about almvisi perhaps a little too close to the asset to be able to talk easily now?
Who knows?
My experience of ahts is they are significantly smaller than the psvs used now, hence cheaper but either way not bothered and always grateful to hear from industry experienced (older?!) professionals!!
Angola was tuf (even the bars were tuf (!) Pub Royal being only 'decent' one when I was first there ahem lol!) with scorched earth policy but DRC was and still is a hell hole. However happiest times of my life in Angola.
Who knows 're Philippines lol, all my mates are in Thailand and I would have ended up there except for other issues!!
Best of luck all.

Nicnic I was going to say my favourite posting was Luanda. Was the Tropico around when you were there?
I was there at the end of the war and after about a year there Savimbi was murdered and Gato was staying one hotel room away from me. His guard in between. Christ that was crazy times!!

Nicnic it was a bit tongue in cheek but also possibly false memory as I may be getting confused with the drill vessels now. The last 12 wells I worked on (not in operational capacity I hasten to add I'm ho) were all drill vessels and they certainly can self propel! (AGAIN slowly though!) Although I thought some semis could as well albeit very very slowly!?
Either way you're the rig expert and good to have you on board.
Jealous about Phil. mate. Could have been me and was on my life plan but not possible anymore!!
I was referring to the ahts because they are cheaper than the supply vessels so when they're around we know they're going to get mobb'd.
Best of luck all.

Hallo dh even if the rig is self propelled that is only auxiliary power ! they still need towing and more importantly once on location then a pattern of 8 anchors need to be run circular ....i did it years ago it's back breaking work ! But I suspect it's now Filipino or other cheap labour on deck
.....ironically I spend 6 months a year living in Phil cos it's cheap ! But back to chat the psv boats only supply and carry deck cargo water fuel oil cement bayruyt not sure about spelling on last!!

Does any one know when Rhum 3 was first drilled

Anchor handling tugs.
They're how I'd transfer the rig to site but not knowing the mob t's and c's they could even self propel whilst setting rig up en route etc if lots of work needs to be done.
So if ahts turn up I'd say we were pretty close to spud.
I'm assuming of course we are first as well in schedule? Does anyone know that?
I'd prefer we weren't of course (risk averse re warm up and associated npt) but I accede to the professionalism of BP as great operators knowing what they're doing! I also assume any warm up npt as being contracted out as well!
Best of luck all!

Are the ahts some Pictish clan that union rules and wee Jimmy Krankie insist man the rigs while in the territorial waters of the Irn Bru Republic?

I'm inferring (perhaps optimistically) they are loading up plus starting proper warm up over the next week then mobbing the week after?!
If they're still QA/QC the current status of rig then I am being overly overly optimistic lol.
Really interested when the ahts arrive so vessel watchers please keep us updated!

Doubt if it will be early May if the Blackford Dolphin is still in the fjord.

sorry to hear that, can't enjoy my usual Friday night drinks tonight myself sadly as on a/bs for a chest infection right now, think my liver's ok so far though although more by luck than judgement!
I see the share price ascent has taken a breather, meanwhile Brent up a tad @72.4 (+0.27)

according to the news today you will need to limit us all to no more than 5 drinks each or we will be dying 2 years younger ;-( ...I don't really believe that of course, I'll go with the studies which say that moderate drinking is good for you

a bit of price activity earlier that looked like large sells that were swallowed up in seconds again. Look for more big trades reported EOD. Pretty sure one or more big buyers hoovering up sellers.
