16/2/2021 14:30 | Just stuck this on the FRES thread: Bitcoin... ...is this month's explanation - all the money that was going to send gold and silver to the moon after the Fed and others' money printing is instead going into the new 'safe haven'(!) Not that it has gone, but that it will go. Hence the price weakness and that of the miners of the stuff - seen Greatland Gold lately? Ahem... If it does happen, just think how much higher gold and silver will actually go when bitcoin et al all turn to dust (in fact not even that) My personal view on bitcoin: | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
16/2/2021 14:01 | Not sure what you are reading as most technical traders and short term views are negative gold. The consensus around the new year that Qtr 1 would see returns to 2000+ have proven to be way off the mark | ![]() tiger60
16/2/2021 13:58 | ... Also most pundits saying gold is going to go up can't be a good thing either? | ![]() bsg
16/2/2021 13:41 | Bitcoin near 50,000! Gold 1800. Bond yields are hurting gold but reflect expected inflation! However, no one is looking for a safe haven when the markets are awash with money looking to ride the wave of a so-called economic bounce that is being factored in. | ![]() tiger60
15/2/2021 10:58 | Hi Cotton,.Apologies, my language failed me - Palito is definitely IMO not about to go over the hill; au contraire, in 2020 it slithered backwards (towards Cook's ii arrow) but now sounds to be on the rise again and it can increase for a lot longer than one year. The Cook timescales are longer than I hope for but are probably realistic. I have been in SRB for seven profitable years already, and a few more won't hurt - as long as we hit the 440p marker within three years!.Hi tiger, worth bearing in mind that Cook has an unashamedly exploration mind-set; SRB is an overlay of all three stages. eg The dashed line at the top of the Exploration curve could be a Open Pit deal with a major 1-2 years down the line?.GLA. Cheers, tightfist | ![]() tightfist
15/2/2021 10:57 | I like the fact that MH is a geologist and has an apparent good working relationship with the local community. The licencing of Coringa has to some extent been outwith his control. | ![]() cotton4
15/2/2021 10:33 | For me the positive is by mid year Serabi will have paid off for Coringa, be virtually debt free with cash in the bank. The big negative is how in 2016 Serabi said they would be a 100koz producer by 2018, then in 2017 they said by 2019, then in 2018 by 2020. In all this time the best Serabi has been able to produce is just 40koz. I do not see any significant rise in the share price until Serabi is producing at least 60koz per year or reporting at 15koz quarter. | ![]() loganair
15/2/2021 09:36 | I reckon that the negativity is also a result of qtr4 production last year which was disappointing. Encouraged by Dec production and comments from MH re January. Full staff now on site and exploration proceeding at pace. As for the Brent Wood graph, Tighfist, I am not convinced that Pallito is yet on the downward trajectory. Had there not been limitations on production I believe they would have been able to produce more given they only working a fraction of the faces available to them. Jan 2021 is also significantly ahead of budget. | ![]() cotton4
15/2/2021 09:17 | Probably true - but I am increasingly persuaded about the value here. Added another 5,700+ just now - showing as a sell, but 'twas a buy. | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
15/2/2021 08:31 | But that orphan period is 2 years plus! And the speaker actually calls out that investors following his methodology should be out before that stage to maximise returns! It just can't hold any gains, although the announcement on Friday was to me, a bit 'forced'. By which I mean it seemed to be more about getting an RNS out to meet an agenda to increase investor awareness than reporting anything substantial (1200 odd soil samples taken, circa 250 samples with 0.03 to 0.8, with a couple of those at 0.8). Probably just me. I am all for increasing investor awareness and boosting liquidity but if these announcements are not sustaining a rise in the share price then it means little. However, I think most of the blame for the lack of any movement here is down to a retreat in gold and the competition of Bitcoin as an alternative haven. 88.7 to buy......same story | ![]() tiger60
14/2/2021 16:20 | Hi Cotton, PPVN;.Several BB'ers were scratching their heads a couple of weeks ago why the share price currently seems to be so unresponsive, despite multiple initiatives. Then I came across this presentation by Brent Cook, which although centred on exploration (with some alarming drilling tales and allusions to "dirty ore") it is the life-cycle slide at 27:16 that makes a lot of sense in the current context of SRB:https://www.yout | ![]() tightfist
13/2/2021 10:06 | Interesting Brazilian context article in the FT this morning "Brazil's new frontier is driving its fortunes - but at what cost?" Gives an insight to the Bolsonaro phenomenon. The much-mentioned upgraded BR-163 artery road runs just to the west of Palito and makes logistics somewhat easier. | ![]() tightfist
12/2/2021 14:22 | Thanks for the brr link Bomber, they have beaten CRUX to the punch this time - or kept CRUX in abeyance pending other news?.It's especially interesting listening in that after only 2 mins regarding this morning's news they move onto topics such as COVID, production and Coringa. MH came over pretty half-full about the last two - IMO well worth a listen. .Hopefully we have now finally left behind the recurring 86p level - is it a coincidence this is the price the Convertibles......Ch | ![]() tightfist
12/2/2021 13:45 | I think the problem here is AISC increase. They have it easy with current gold prices but what happens if the gold price collapse a bit say 30%. Then they're in trouble. | ![]() bsg
12/2/2021 12:30 | So this has a positive update it remains in the doldrum. GRLon the otherhand get a environmental permit grant and it rise by 20% and have not yet produced any gold. | ![]() glasswala
12/2/2021 09:36 | Seems a lot of bored and frustrated small holders seeking the exit. Understandable. I kept the 6,300 from last week, although in profit, along with the other chunks - for the time being anyway; I have the impression that once the apparently improved push for publicity gets some traction that things should rerate. Every other 2-bit non-producer that finds something, anything, is performing, it's almost as if having an existing income stream is somehow perceived as a negative - it won't last. But we've said that before... | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
12/2/2021 09:26 | Boris my dear friend did you see todays news at GRL? Look how the share price has motored since I tipped them to you at 2p 👍 | ![]() trader536
12/2/2021 08:14 | Highly significant - seems that the foot is pressing on the accelerator here finally. Keep up this progress - it’s what I want to see! | ![]() ironstorm
12/2/2021 07:46 | PPVN - Now see where Fofoca is - Looks like additional find. | ![]() cotton4
12/2/2021 07:36 | PPVN - Just trying to get a handle on where Fofoca is. ''Multi-element soil anomalies confirm strike extension of known gold occurrences at the Fofoca prospect on the Sao Chico/ Sao Domingos trend.'' | ![]() cotton4
12/2/2021 07:30 | GM! Well thats a very positive RNS. Particuarly the fact that it looks as though Calico has the early signs of being a possible pit deposit (I.e. porphyry as they've mentioned several times...). The 513g / t sample deposit was found at Toucano cotton; thats their new tenement west of Sao Chico. They are coming up with some really good results so far. | ![]() ppvn
12/2/2021 07:14 | Looks like extension of lom at Palito. But Fofoca is more of interest to me. Can anyone say if this is where they had the drill results of 513g/t. PPVN? | ![]() cotton4
12/2/2021 07:09 | positive RNS | ![]() nickwild |
