I thought the following comment (post 5102) from TheLagerKhan to be helpful in explaining the muted market reaction:

'Haider, The new contracts for supply are for five years, so they have to have reserves in place to last the five years prior to signing,also these are not huge fields so may only last five years or so.
I am sure that it will all work outvery well in the end but will be a gradual process, after this drilling programme they will carry out a lot more seismic, starting around June I believe then they will bring in a rig from the US probably nexy year. I still think that the big news will be South Desouq.'

Could mean either Darola, or something else entirely. Not particularly enlightening it has to be said. They've said before they have the demand and have quoted figures and companies.

Should we be reading between the lines here? They actually have new customers that they are connecting (under what terms?)? Or, they are trying to find new customers to buy the extra gas?

"We are actively working towards connecting new customers to our existing infrastructure"

We need to hear about reserves and contract terms and lengths. Just have to wait.

Drilling at SD will be commencing soon - although I suspect it won't start on time or be finished on time as SDX aren't always the best with timing. But not excessively. A few weeks difference usually.

Just to correct you there SoulSauce. The market price for natural gas has not really risen much if at all. That said SDX don't get market price, they get a contracted price. Soon to be $10-12/mscf in Morocco and hopefully something like $4/mscf in Egypt.

Agree hiddendepths just got to be patient. This has not responded to the rising oil and gas price or the continued finds, however it will be hard to ignore what the bottom line says in the next results.

Methinks a lot of those 'sells' were in actual fact buys, anything above the bid would appear to be buys!!

Not sure why the MM's have to try and fool punters.

Great result, again. Next week will be big for SDX, the 5th spud due in Morocco and the commencement of drilling in Egypt. There have been some patient shareholders here over the last 9 months waiting for the value to be realised. Looks like the wait will be over this month.

Indeed soul - the 2018 production target already looked pretty silly. Now it's absurd!

SDX has decent cashflow with a lot more to come shortly.

When the selling (emanating from Canada?) comes to an end, I would think there'll be a quantum step up in the share price

22.35mmcf/d in total from all 3 wells. 16.5mmcf/d net to sdx energy at a margin of $8-9 once hooked up to customers. Mega result from the morocco campaign

I don't know the date of the spud. I do wonder why they are going for the exploration well first. I would have thought they would drill the two lower risk appraisal wells first to better size the production facilities. But maybe the delay in signing a gas contract has changed their thinking. Another possibility is that their partner may want to test the bigger structure as they may be considering selling their 45% interest. That would be interesting indeed....

If you look at p 28 of the latest corporate presentation, you will see that the next well in Egypt is the EXPLORATION well on the Ibn Yunus Structure, NOT a development well. The second and third wells will be development/appraisal wells on the SD1-X discovery, followed by a second exploration well on the Kelvin structure (which, if successful, may prove to be connected to SD1-X)
