14/3/2007 17:52 | Sold out earlier this week having held for over a year, as I thought the share price may be in for a period of consolidation - I was lucky with my timimg. Will look to buy back in July if the trading update is postive, which it should be. Still believe this is a great company. | fellowes2
14/3/2007 15:06 | overall 1M shares sold on 1 trade, looking at ADVFN free graph perhaps it was that that dragged the price down... hopefully recover from here now that is gone....see what happens... | markt
14/3/2007 11:56 | Agreed. Also been adding at 301p. There is no way these are having flat EPS growth even with the FX reversal and increase in marketing. The Q4 momentum is too great IMHO. Also, it's interesting to note Lancaster hasn't sold shares after the finals unlike previous times so I reckon he's bullish on the business. | wjccghcc
14/3/2007 11:20 | Its quite normal for a stock that has had a good run to come in for a sharp spike down on profit taking when markets are a little nervous. The same happened with THG a couple of weeks ago when it fell about 11% intraday. Its now about 15% higher. Ive re-entered my long at just over 300p and will add on any further spikes down. I would expect the share price to be appreciably higher once those who have it on their watchlist realise how far its fallen. | nickcduk
14/3/2007 11:06 | Don't really understand why, given the strength of the recent rise, the SP's retracing so much. I'm aware that the broker target was circa 300p, but thought the results were good enough to sustain that figure and more. Hope we can keep above 300p. | spaceparallax
14/3/2007 08:43 | Looking at the pattern of trades last few weeke, the big trades have totally disappeared since the recent top and only the short term small PIs selling out in nervous markets..and there were a lot of them as this was widely tipped. Thats the problem with tipped shares !!! Cant blame them for banking a big profit.. Probably fill the gap sub 300 before we get some decent buying.. unless we get some newsflow. | woracle
09/3/2007 19:10 | Looks like the share price is in for a period of consolidation following the very rapid recent rise. I would expect the next major move to follow the trading update due in the latter half of July. | fellowes2
26/2/2007 17:35 | ...what could valuation be if bought by someone like MSoft, Yahoo, Google..... Google paid loads did they not for some auto translating company ??? With companies like Google, Microsoft (MSN, Hotmail. consoles, games) and many others fighting hard in the growing internet global markets......would SDL be beneficial aquisition for them ?? Europe for example has loads of languages....(and is one the 'rich' regions of the world)..... The Google auto translator for example is terrible.....almost useless.....so they in my view need to invest in re-writing the software or consider buying other source.... (and as well as being able to benefit from the technology and increase their own main business they would also get the normal income of the company....) (whichever way I look at SDL I see the share price going up over time...) Anyone know much about this area ? (acquisition of auto translation cos. for internet related use) | markt
26/2/2007 14:47 | My quote is from Questor in Daily Telegraph.. Vista doesnt include SDL technology but I recall Microsoft is one of their clients.. | woracle
26/2/2007 13:41 | Woracle You said "The company also enjoyed high services revenues from Microsoft on the back of the launch of Vista". Can you tell me more ? What's this about ? Vista includes SDL technology or ?? | markt
23/2/2007 17:19 | ..fellowes2 ...you looking for an analysis for this one ??? - internet connection per house/business, high growth sector, great global growth still ahead, India, China etc - use of internet, high growth sector - translation and international marketting etc, growth sector . trying selling USA widgets in say India without it - globalization, growth sector - opportunities in European Union. growing, many countries and languages added - barriers to entry, significant. good auto translation is large investment Negative Factors Must be some I guess. ...but maybe Fellowes2 wants to fill in that part !! | markt
23/2/2007 17:12 | ...oh, and forget to say what I was going to say !! ...that it has rocketted up last few months.....has rocketted up on the week...and even with lots of shares being sold.....it still finishes the week with rising on the last day.... to me it sure seems to be shouting that people (big fish, institutions) want to buy this share (the high value of the trading this week is not, in my view, the small private shareholder) roll on next year...and the year after that....with a little luck this could have a way to go.... | markt
23/2/2007 17:09 | Fellowes....LOL... What's the problem ?? You object that I've bought some !! You been in since 1.8; congrats ...and that was a good time to buy...well done....I sat watching it going up every day....but no spare cash at that time so I didnt look into it and I was busy... Ive watched since below a pound....but went for something else.... But better chart etc that that other one, in my opinion anyway. | markt
22/2/2007 15:58 | LOL - markt. I hope you will point out the positives as well as the negatives!! As I have been in SDL since £1.80 I can afford to smile. | fellowes2
22/2/2007 15:48 | ...hello all ! Liked this when it was way lower...but was backing other horses at the time... got into this finally...its never too late I liked the increase in turnover in world markets excl USA and Europe....40% or so....could keep doing that or more for next few years I think.... looks to have great possibilities....its sector is growing quickly and looks set to keep going for a number of years I think... so share price hopefully will go up due to good future co. reports/accounts and also potentially as the share is re/rated...just look at it over last month...not over yet I think... | markt
22/2/2007 09:28 | You also need to factor in the the 1.2mm FX profit they made last year on hedging their $ revenue. That won't repeat this year. New T&G forecasts are 14.6p and 17.3p. Personally I think with the Q4 momentum they'll beat those but with the FX effect, 17.5p may be a bit high. | wjccghcc
21/2/2007 23:46 | nickcduk, 17.5p for 2007 isnt unrealistic. Since when have SDL given actual guidance to the brokers which they haven't exceeded at both H1 and H2. Just check out the last 2 years trading statements... U will find they have a habit of underestimating to ensure they exceed expectations.. I suspect on purpose as the worse case scenario... good expectation management one could say. I still go for 440 but as we near 250M cap, we will get a higher rating as more fundies join the party. | woracle
21/2/2007 18:43 | watch them really fly when they start to pay a dividend. I invested in Datamonitor at the same time as SDL when they were about the same price. Look at Datamonitor now. SDL WILL follow. | angler
21/2/2007 18:09 | woracle, your figures are conservative in my opinion, at 350p trading on a historic p/e of 25 (14p eps 2006), we only have to look at aveva to see what can happen to share prices when the market latches onto a growth story, and you are right this is an institutional favourite, over £6 by year end? | 1965robert
21/2/2007 17:50 | Not really, fresh institutional buying as predicted... If we grow EPS by 25% this year which I think is achievable we get 17.5p. If we rerate to 25x, then looking for 440 next year. Thats my target. | woracle
21/2/2007 15:53 | What do I know! | phillis
21/2/2007 12:30 | That was some spike at 11.30! | spaceparallax
21/2/2007 09:48 | Look's like the Market likes the results. | spaceparallax |
