20/2/2007 15:47 | Markets in general taking a few profits today but SDL powering ahead on decent volume. | woracle
20/2/2007 15:06 | Certainy a v positive outlook and every portfolio should have some! | phillis
20/2/2007 14:08 | Phillis, the kicker is explained by Lancaster in the outlook..essentially that global businesses are JUST starting to understand what SDL's products can do to add to their business. I strongly believe we are at a stage where Autonomy was a few years back... the global blue chips need SDL's oferings but has only just begun to realise it..and SDL are the world leaders here.. I'm not saying we will grow 77% this year. I said 20%+ and doubtless it will probably be more..and sustainable for the next 5 years at least. Just look at Autonomy...its only just the beginning... | woracle
20/2/2007 12:19 | Excellent results and hopefully for may years to come | 11theone
20/2/2007 11:19 | Woracle The Trados acquisition will probably flatter in the short term but where is the next kicker coming from? Obviously good organic growth prospects but why pretend the goodwill write off doesn't exist | phillis
20/2/2007 09:21 | Right on queue, the 200K and 150K buys..its the fundies arriving/topping up.. was expecting a lot of small sells as is the normal pattern after a good run up to results but it appears most have decided to hold and any that sell will all be mopped up at this price no doubt. | woracle
20/2/2007 09:13 | Agreed. Been holding since the 180p days and adding on each bit of better than expected news. Just added again. Current year PE likely to be around 18 which seems a bit mean when you compare them with companies holding a similar leading market position in other software sectors e.g. AU., AVV | wjccghcc
20/2/2007 09:03 | I posted here over a year ago that SDL were only at the start of a major re-rating and its good to see the Market starting to wake up to its prospects. I dont know or care what SDL will be doing this time next week, but in 12 months time the share price is likely to be significantly higher again. To have exceeded the recently upgraded figures is exceptional. | fellowes2
20/2/2007 08:44 | Phillis, Adjusted EPS has grown 28%, 20% and now 77% last 3 years. I think SDL deserves a rating higher than 21x forecast earnings. The market will realise the acquisition was a step change, margins are higher and this growth is not over by any means. At a capitalisation of only 200M, SDL now appear on the radar of more fundies. Sub-150M, it wont even appear on most of their filters.. | woracle
20/2/2007 08:35 | SDL has in the past normally traded at about 21x forecast adjusted earnings. If we say get 20% growth this year which is quite conservative, the forecast EPS needs revising closer to 16.75. On that basis and with the best years of SDL's growth just arriving, no reason the re-rating wont go onto 350 before interims. | woracle
20/2/2007 08:34 | Excellent results but now v highly valued. Difficult to see now it might merit rerating! Unique nonetheless | phillis
20/2/2007 08:15 | Wow, spectacular results. Never in all my years have I seen a company announcing a trading statment saying significantly ahead of expectations in the last month of the trading year, then go on to announce results that significantly exceed that 2 months later.. Might be a few profit takers today but when the fundies see how this business is growing the re-rating will continue. Next years forecasts which are for only 12.4M will be updgraded very very soon I expect. The impossibly high barriers to entry and the ever growing mega blue chip client list realising lanaguage translation is key to their business in an era of globalisation will ensure they continue to grow at 25%+ for many years yet. Also deserves a takeover premium I suspect. Very happy indeed with these. | woracle
16/2/2007 14:27 | tipped in The Times today - tiddler to watch - Teather & Greenwood analysts Buy recommendation ahead of results next Tue | fatfinger
08/2/2007 12:39 | Nice one papa, sounds like a good move! Good on you! | 12345th
08/2/2007 12:12 | After a divorce, a gift to my daughters and selling shares when they were languishing, not a lot - but a bit more than £12½K! We enjoy life here and do not miss the old country. We had a week there in January, with rain, wind, snow and frost. We got back to 20ºC and sunshine - what do you think? | papapod
08/2/2007 11:50 | How much is your stake worth now papa?????? What will you do with all that money? Is life in Cyprus a nice escape, or do you sometimes wish you were back home with a nice cuppa tea in dear old Blighty? | 12345th
08/2/2007 09:13 | I wish I had some inside info but I don't! | papapod
08/2/2007 08:42 | so a few sdl employees doing a spot of insider trading possibly :) if you are right the takeout price is gonna be sky high. | woracle
08/2/2007 08:28 | Just see this board. I was an investor when the co started in 1991 after Borland bought out Ashton Tate. My investment of £15K bought 12½% of the company when it still based in Mark's Maidenhead house. When the company floated and the shares reached the heady heights of nearly £8 a share, I couldn't sell because of a lock in. Never mind - we now live in Cyprus where there is no CGT on the saqle of shares (yum yum). I have been watching the share price with interest - I guess a bid might account for the recent rises.... | papapod
07/2/2007 16:59 | T+10 traders you reckon ? Seems rather a lot for this one. | woracle
07/2/2007 15:29 | running ahead of results due on 20th feb. KT | kievtrader
07/2/2007 12:44 | Has this been tipped somewhere again .. flurry of small buys.. | woracle
24/1/2007 14:48 | I have a sneaky feeling that we might be due an announcement that Mark Lancaster sold a load of shares yesterday. | spaceparallax
24/1/2007 14:13 | Well done Tillman, it appears, from today's drift, that your timing was perfect. | spaceparallax
23/1/2007 16:02 | I've taken my profits today. Great company and I appreciate I might miss out on a bid. BUT, I reckon the chart has shot up very very quickly and the rating is looking quite generous. Maybe a re-entry point will present itself in due course. This would be nice in view of the significant chart breakout. 240ish and I will be tempted back in. All the best. | tillman |
