Good prudent management, those shares were bought at a discount. Re invest now for the next cycle or hold as cash in treasury.

I am in favour as the cash raised can then be put to good use in future growth companies rather than doing nothing in treasury.

When SMT sold 80% of its Tesla holdings it reinvested them in Northvolt and Chargepoint amongst others, both are still unlisted.

ASML makes new all-time-high at Euro 750 today.

the early September wobble when the share price fell from 700 to 650 has fast been steadied and more than made good.

not to be missed.

Just released a few moments ago, an excellent new piece of research by highly-regarded Edison Group on Canadian General headed :-

" VERY LONG-TERM RECORD OF OUTPERFORMANCE "

An in-depth dive into CGI including commentary on portfolio.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

CanGen now up 9%.

that's a massive move for any investment trust in one day.

however more to go as CanGen's discount to nav remains gaping.

all imo.dyor.

Canadian General up 7.5% this morning in London following positive write-up in Sunday Times.

Market finally waking up to the wholly unjustified discount to NAV.

I see that the premium to NAV has widened quite a bit and , if markets ever tank, SMT would really get hit I guess . But who can argue with the chart and outstanding performance !

Would be rather useful to see geographic spread of investments. China separated from Asia in the current circumstances. Any ideas please?

It's not that difficult. Accept that the world is changing, more rapidly than at any time in the last 100 years and and you'll understand the value of this share price. If you can't do that, don't bother.

Looks at 20 year share price history. Dunno about nerves of steel, lacking a fear of heights seems more of a requirement.

"I just do not understand this." Now that I agree with.

fantasy net asset value.
I was looking into these so did a bit of research.

I just do not understand this.
seems like an accident waiting to happen.
yield 0.28% says it all.
A bunch of overpriced companies that make almost no profit on astronomical PE's.

In a sane world net assets based upon earnings and fundamentals would be a fraction of those quoted.
Smart to issues new shares though at these prices, that way they will get in some real money.

Willthere be a day of reckoning.
Decided not to ride the upward wave and invest, with my luck I would be left holding the parcel when the music stops.
Good luck to those in, you must have nerves of steel.
