Loz,

Do you mean your:

" WHAT -do *WE* think would be the 'situation' TODAY, had SCLP...NOT { been 'forced'} raised the £4.7 million ???" "

If you had asked:

"What do people think the stuation today would be had SCLP NOT been forced to raise £4.7 million? "

ie, without the spurious hyphen, caps, asterix * 2, single quotes, dot dot dot, open squigley bracket, close squigley bracket, question mark * 3

Then, I may have recognised you were asking a question and answered, which would have been:

Irrelevant question as they DID raise £4.7M.
Equally irrelevant questions would be what if ms Durrant studied a different course at uni, what if moditope was never discovered and what if you had never invested here.

Loz,
a very good question, and it would be good to hear everyone's views on it, but from my prospective, a more pressing question is, what will happen if no funding is found before next Summer ? What happens then ? No cash in the bank - no revenue streams - no money to keep the lights on, let alone to fund the trials - what happens then ?
A fire sale of one or more of the platforms ? Liquidation ?

Far from being risk free, until the cash is sorted, we're anything but riskless.

Get that first deal over the line and then we can start to relax a bit, until then, this is a very high risk investment, but , with massive possible returns.. Risk vs Reward.
Unlike someone will tell you, there is no such thing as Reward vs Reward, there's always risk.

Tosh,

Ichor are developing the new device following their license agreement with Pfizer and J&J - for use in their trials. It's being designed and manufactured by Flextronics. Scancell are fortunate that they'll benefit from this and as far as I know will be the very first company to use the new device in clinical trials. Before that can happen though, as it's a new device it will require FDA authorisation for use in trials. So you can see this is far more than just Ichor having to complete a section of Scancell's IND application.

Obviously as a Scancell holder I'm aware that I'll want to believe what I'm reading, but I have spent quite a bit of time checking out the situation with the Ichor device and it all seems reasonable to me. Whether it's the only reason for the delay is another matter, but remember the vaccine has only just been released and data from manufacture of new vaccine is also required on the IND.

ONW - I can guarantee it would take less than 5 minutes for the first post to appear predicting with great alarm that the inability to raise funds = certain bankruptcy:)

B.... i could be wrong, who knows, i doubt the full story will ever be published, but it smacks of something nasty to me.
Maybe its just my lack of faith in RG that makes me think theres always a hidden agenda when ever he opens his mouth, im not sure. I just think that EVERYONE would have been well aware that the announced timetables were never achievable, and there is a reason for that, and its not ignorance of the facts on behalf of Ichor or SCLP, so that begs the question... WHY.
The rationale behind the requirement for an improved device, would almost certainly have been born out of its performance during the earlier SCIB1 trials, probably due to issues highlighted by SCLP themselves, so why the sudden shock announcement that there will be delays due to Ichor developing a new devise... Sorry B, it just doesn't stack up for me, but like i said, i could very well be wrong... just my humble opinion.

It would make a strong point if the BOD DIDN'T ask for a vote for more share issuance in the current year!
Then we'd have the never ending argument as to whether this meant there's bound to be a deal announced in the next 1/2 quarters, or whether the BOD are simply incompetent for not covering any immediate cash requirement... :-)
Hope both sides can see the irony in that scenario....

Tosh,

Scancell will have to dance to Ichor's tune on this one, not the other way around.

Anyway, am glad that you understand the point about using the old device.

agema, 8ull5hit re friendships. And of course the BOD will vote for another 20% share issuance. Whether it will be needed or not is something none of us no. Would rather have the cash though, in case they do.

Onw.

Yes friendships and fellow rampers have fallen out with each other. But that's what happens when the share price falls and keeps low for a long time. Those posters who are a one trick pony and over exposed stick out very brightly.

It will be interesting at the AGM to see if they put a motion forward for a future placing and how much if any limit they impose. That might tell a story.

This funding delay must be a huge worry for the over exposed. Why such a delay.? Are the big finders out there really not that interested.? Time will tell. ATB.

B... Scancell would have known about the new device prior to the setting of the announced trial timetable... They would have to have been in constant contact with Ichor. IMHO.

I totally agree that to have used the old device when a new " improved " model would be available, would of been foolhardy, but my point still remains, that SCLP would have been more than aware of that fact before they announced the original trial timetable, which then begs the question why they chose to announce trial dates that they knew were never going to be achievable ?.... Maybe a fund raise !!!!

The two companies would have needed to collaborate and discuss the trials, all the way through the process, eg ;- Timings being one of the major topics , so to then use " the new gun " as the reason for the delay, just doesn't hold water IMHO.

I don't agree Tosh - the Ichor gun needs to be approved for use in clinical trials by the FDA - this isn't just Ichor completing a part of Scancell's IND application. It's completely independent of that. So choice for Scancell would have been to stick with Ichor and wait for new gun or choose another electroporation device from a different company. We'll never know whether they evaluated that option or not.

Funding, vaccine supply, capacity in Scancell's labs may have all contributed or be responsible for the delay to the trial but the Ichor situation isn't nonsense - it's fact.

Verbal Diarrhoea doesn't allow thinking time IMO...
Interesting shifts in alliances (and personalities)emerging all the time now.... Can hardly keep up!!!! ATB
PS Interesting run up to the AGM... I really hope there's at least one rabbit to be pulled from the BOD's hat, because if not I believe there's some PIs who'll simply explode with frustration!
I have some sympathy with anyone like that, but then again, there's never going to be anything announced that'll keep everyone completely happy!
Just have to wait and see I guess!

C7... " Could we not have just used the original Ichor gun, to hurry up trial.?? Just think it suits to wait for Moditope deal to provide funding, which is how i have always seen it ".

I said exactly the same thing when this was originally announced.
I smelt a rat straight away, because for two companies that work so closely together, surely Scancell would have been well aware of the new gun's development at the very early stages, so the news would not have come as a shock, nor should it have been able to influence the trail timetable... its nonsense, and is merely a delaying tactic designed to cover up the real reason behind the delays, which is the lack of FUNDING, IMHO, and i said so at the time.
