Data transfer speeds:

Acoustic coupler up to 300 bps (bits per second)
Dial up to to 56Kbps (Kilo bits per second)
Broadband typically 2Mbps-80Mbps (Megabits per second)

The post was to Lozan, I'm sure he understood the analogy as would anyone with one (or more) of the following: Intelligence;Common sense;Education

why do you dig these big holes for yourself? Then, when you can't win the argument you resort to just making a bigger number of posts. Rubbish is still rubbish however many times you post it.

broadband stays connected.

and that is not a head start .. as if both are connected ..

good old copper wire becomes the speed limit for both systems

no its not ... unless you can speed up electricity

your confusing speed with the size of file transmitted Upload and download "Vol" which is bandwidth

the data cannot move any faster unless you can break the speed of light

the speed of light =
299 792 458 m / s

and that is not on the cards ... unless you fold space time

The analogy is fine, it was to illustrate SPEED not quality or anything else.
Broadband is faster than dial up which is faster than we got in the 70's using acoustic couplers.
You have to take issue with everything, what's the point?

whats strange is, the full acoustic signal is actually a wider bandwidth than you could imagine

a digital recording of a sound is only a sample of the true analog sound - no digital recording can be 100% accurate, though the human ear cannot detect the difference between a high quality sample and a real sample.

Interesting if you actually understood "bandwidth" you would not use that analogy

Loz, the reason I asked is that many tasks we have to do and compute requires both sides of the brain. They have found that the data connector between the left and right sides (the Corpus Collosal) is wider in left handers, they have broadband whereas we have dial up connection. This only applies to pure left handers not mixed people like us. This is why left handers dominate most sport lists (50% will be on the top goal, cricket, tennis, baseball list against 10% of the overall population). Sport requires extremely fast processing using both hemispheres.

Don't be too disappointed about the dial up, some on here have acoustic couplers!

Inan , IQ has nothing to do with education level. If you have an IQ of 125 and studied up to doctorate at university you would still have an IQ of 125.

Always an indication of ...SPEED of mind, or reflexes... being 'just that bit quicker'
I NEVER claim to be 'smart'.... to me it is just NORMAL
BUT, I DO know = others don't have IT { Whatever IT may be }
.
I DO however = hold in high regard, the ability to apply = GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE
{Often over-looked by those NOT able to apply it}

Inan, why are you so fixated on "the science"? There are lots more elements to this (as an investment) than "the science". Why don't you go on mastermind and insist that every other contestant has to answer questions on YOUR specialist subject. Might give you a chance of winning.

I concede that as we sit here today, you probably know more than I do about "the science". It would probably take me half a day's worth of research to get to your level of understanding. The danger is, once I do I may come to the same conclusion as you and feel I have to go All In! AIMHO

Lozan, A properly controlled IQ test is timed so speed does come in to it.
If you gave me a couple of days I would score 100% in most tests, alas as it is timed I don't.
