Already bought inanaco.....it's WHEN you buy that matters ...I'm an elliottician.
Unlike yourself, I generally get this right !

Is he back on that again?

A year or so ago he was claiming, in all seriousness it appeared, that he has a proven 'minimum' 85% success rate. Eventually, I got him to see what the result would have been be if he had traded with an 85% success rate for a couple of years, across say 5 stocks with level bets on a weekly or monthly cumulative basis, even if he had started with as little as £1000. [With a sure fire 85% success rate there is no risk in using geared options, if you trade across 5 stocks]

Warren B, Jeff B and Elon M (collectively) eat your hearts out !!

I don't think Tyke's maths education can have progressed beyond arithmetic progressions to geometric progressions. Either that, or he must have been employing Bernie Madoff as his broker, and not noticed that virtually all his profits had gone AWOL !!

For the discerning few that take this on board....ignore the internet comments. The bashers have tried and failed !
Of the few...even fewer will succeed. The very very few that make it will become mega successful.
They will NOT need to buy a car-park....or invest in gold for safety .. 😂

As far as SCLP share price goes.....one person and one person only has called it correctly.....drum roll.....the elliottician.
It's a results based business.

Completely wrong...
The thing that's variable is fundamental analysis...it's in the past (so irrelevant), and everyone has a different slant. Indeed, everyone usually changes their story. Look at SCLP news. The last RNS was greeted with ....great news, we won't see the doomsters today ! This changed quickly to....the company has communicated poorly, once they 'reacted' to the share price falls in hindsight. Even company profits bear no correlation to share price moves. Waste of time.
EW however is a complete road-map of price. Price moves can be 'anticipated' on a probabilistic basis.
Take it from an expert....it has NO peers.
Knocker wouldn't know a wave of he was surfing.
He follows me around hoping to learn something.
He hasn't got the capability...that's obvious.
Doomed to look in his rear-view mirror.

The average PI will always discredit what they can't understand. They look to confirmation bias to try and justify the fact that their premise simply doesn't hold water. Just look at the fools on here like wiggy. Wrong time and time again....yet throwing stones from his greenhouse at the one person who calls things RIGHT around here.
You couldn't make it up.
Like I say....few will rise to the challenge....and never look back.
EW...has NO peers.
The market is a place of irony....and complete contradiction.

Not at all....the majority will make rude comments because the majority are ALWAYS wrong.
The few discerning traders and investors on here will already be researching into EW.
They WILL be very few.
EW is not only proven....every single traded asset follows the wave pattern. It is there to be discovered by all.
Few will rise to the challenge and never look back. Most will take the easy path. The average investment house fund manager fails to beat even the market averages.
All about intellectual honesty.....you have it...or you don't !

Ruck,There are small cap managers who use quant, fundamentals, momentum, growth, combinations of all. There are millions made selling investing books to retail punters every year, all trying to earn big bucks identifying alpha strategies for joe public... small cap is still big business... Yet nearly a century after being suggested, EW is not widely applied because there is no robust evidence that it works. If it existed - we could all read about it. But we can't.... Behavioural finance suggests that combining fundamental factors with price and sentiment factors can get you somewhere... but price as a factor on its own - nope.. ATB

wiggy,

I don't think anyone is suggesting the EW be used by big quant houses. They deal in millions if not billions of pounds worth of investment. Most wouldn't touch companies like Scancell with a barge pole - not yet anyway.

The small private investor has an advantage over the big investment houses in that they can spot opportunities missed by them and adopt strategies that they wouldn't be able to use. For example, going all in or very overweight on a particular stock.

marcusL2,

Are you saying this is going to have a negative impact on Scancell as they will struggle to conduct further trials in later stage patients?

EW theory has been around since the 1930's. If there was ever going to be robust evidence that it works, we would have seen it by now. For all the attempts to create a mysticism around it, it is simply based on price movements and cycles - and backtesting that sort of thing is bread and butter to the average microprocessor sitting in the average laptop. The quant game these days is about buying new and innovative data sets and combining it with various other factors to try and identify alpha/outperformance anomalies. The idea that the big quant houses could avoid all this expense and get great performance by simply looking at price waves is daft as a brush. Apply common sense. ATB

Count, Yes, I am very interested in Scancell. I am interested in their approach to the treatment of cancer using immunotherapy and sincerely hope it comes off for them and the patients they treat. If I make a few shilling in the process even better. I am also "interested" in that I have a reasonable investment here and have done since July 2012. I will never forget that date, it is when I lost my wife to colon cancer. I don't have a problem with theories. They are there to be proven or shot down. If there were no wrong theories we wouldn't learn and progress. I'm sure that immuno-oncology started as a theory and was shot down by numerous people including fellow scientists no doubt. So no, I don't have a problem with theories - all merit consideration until proven wrong beyond doubt. I think the "buy and hold strategy" is beginning to fall into that bracket. It may work on dividend paying blue chips but it doesn't work on small cap, volatile, high risk biotechs. I think Tyke and the two VOX "clowns" have got that right.

Ruck,
You seem to have a lot of interest in a company that doesn't make money.
Tyke posts about a theory. A bad one at that. He provides absolutely no proof that it works for him either.

No, Tyke, I can't put your homework with the stars on it on the board. Not this time. If i did that, the size of your loss on Mode would not be a secret anymore, would it?

If you draw a picture of your imaginary waves in Art class though, that could be put up on the board, if you do it neatly.

Do put 'LOSS' in your spellings book. Remember, it has two ss.

Thank you for sending in your homework promptly, Tyke.

That is right. Both investments made LOSSES. So you get 2 stars for your homework.

Did you notice that the loss on RMM was small, and the loss on Mode was big? That is because you sold the RMM holding very soon after buying it, when knocker explained that it was a silly investment to have made. All losses are BAD, but small losses are not as bad as BIG losses. It was silly to listen to your invisible friends and to ignore knocker's warnings to sell Mode wasn't it? I am sure you will not make that mistake again.

We will keep the amount you lost on Mode as our secret. There are some rather mean people on bbs who make fun of people who make big losses. Never do that yourself. It is unkind.

Thank you for sending your homework by PM, to save me hunting through the posts on the public board to find it.That was very thoughtful of you. I am going to give you an EXTRA 'courtesy, kindness and co-operation' star for doing that.

So that is THREE stars for your very first homework! That is a very good start. Won't Mummy be pleased?

If you keep working hard, concentrate, and don't let yourself be distracted by imaginary waves or your invisible friends, I am sure you will do very well in your investment lessons.
