And again, I think the Govt. were a little early in releasing all Covid measures UK wide.

Sorry to repeat this question, but are we still 'following the science' ? If so, whose science is it ?

As said, JVT has departed for his own good reasons no doubt, but Chris Whitty, Patrick Vallance and SAGE atm seem to be either absent or quiet ?

Have the Whips had a word with them (wink) or are they simply, embarrassed ?

Have a nice weekend all.

It's the weekend - I only recall one brief mention here of 'Partygate', (EE) a couple of weeks ago, (that's amongst my 'unfiltered' read). IMO such shenanigans are just, 'who he (BJ) is', (i.e. Government Bullingham style !).

But curiously, for all my deep felt criticism of BJ over the Pandemic, I'd rather have him at the UK helm right now as these Ukraine horrors unfold - his mercurial 'Mad Hatter' style might just help get some messages across. Hopefully.

God knows we face some wild times in Europe worsened by the EU being in a shambles and dependent on Russian gas. What a World we now have !

Recalling an enjoyable time in Germany visiting an MD Karl Blumberg, (printing presses, chart recorder paper and pens), around 1989 when the 'Wall' came down. For me at least, it was a time of such hope and optimism which I seem to remember brought some askance looks from my Hosts at lunch - looking back it makes me chuckle. I was surely naive in hoping the World was on a better path . . . .

Keep smiling I guess. So it's Boris for wartime PM !

Inane, why don't you try posting the truth.....mRNA vaccines do present the 1273 Amino Acid Wuhan HU1 (Wuhan alpha) spike protein to you immune system. But then they damage your immune system to the point where you are more likely to be infected with Covid than an unvaxxed person.

So in truth they are anti vaccines. A true vaccination provides long term immunity, just as infection recovery provides long term natural immunity. mRNA vaccines only provide short term immunity for a few months. then they go negative in efficiency and become anti vaccines. So actually the fully vaccinated are the true anti-vaxxers, having been fully antivaccinated,

TF, it is the vaccinated who are getting reinfected due to their compromised immune systems. A freedom of information request sent to the CDC showed that there were no records of anyone with natural immunity transmitting the virus. Keep taking the jabs and keep destroying your immune system that is Inane, Bermuda, EE and WW's advice.

they don't the fact that we are all different and age ... comes into to play you cant group any one specifically as having "super immunity"

the fact that omicron can reinfect indicates its moved away sufficient from the original to confuse the immune system however you still may have antibodies that still recognise some areas of the spike giving you a head start from those not vaccinated and if they see it, T cells certainly will.

infection causes t cells that are in action to "Improve" to a higher Avidity

Scancells sides steps this natural improvement and delivers high Avidity in the vaccine

those suffering from chronic infection have a completely different profile .. and should not be included in the above

A question . . . . I'm wondering how these 2 stories reconcile :-

Sorry it's the DM - it was easy to find there. A genuine question and I'll be grateful for the obvious explanation, that I seem to have missed myself !

EE, can't wait for you to have more jabs and watch your immune system go down the toilet. Some of today's headlines " VAIDS - Every 1% fall in Covid 19 Vaccine effectiveness is the result of a 0.5-1 %fall in your Immune system capability "....." Covid 19 Vaccines are projected to cause 62.3m Cardiovascular deaths in 2022 Worldwide......Vaccinated account for 4 in every 5 Covid 19 Hospitalisations and deaths in the past month, the majority triple jabbed "....BBC News won't tell you that official figures show the fully vaccinated are up to 4 times more likely to die of covid 19 than the unvaccinated suggesting Antibody Dependent Enhancement ( As happened in previous animal trials, where all the animals died, as was pointed out by numerous Doctor's and Scientists before the vaccine roll out ).... In positive news 100,000 Truckers and 1.5 m people descending on Ottawa to fight for Canadian's and people across the World's freedoms against tyranny and Mandates "

Interesting article on Omicron stats plateauing in the UK:Omicron's fall has plateaued - should we worry? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-60161124Notes that attempts to suppress Omicron will fail because it is just too infectious.Better vaccines, anyone?

Woman walks into a pet shop, sees a beautiful parrot and says to the owner ‘how much for the parrot?’ He says ‘£20’ she says ‘that’s cheap’, he replies ‘I have to admit the parrot has a history ,he used to be owned by a prostitute who worked in a local brothel’. The woman said, ‘for £20 I’ll take the risk’.
So the pet shop owner put the parrot in a cage and covered the cage with a cloth. When the woman got home she took the cloth off, the parrot looked around and said ‘new place, very nice’, then the woman’s two daughters walked in and the parrot said ‘new place, new girls, very nice’ then the woman’s husband walks in and the parrot says ‘hello Keith’

RIP Barry Cryer.

Abstract
Background
Additional SARS-CoV-2 vaccines that are safe and effective as primary vaccines and boosters remain urgently needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. We describe the safety and durability of the immune responses following two primary doses and a homologous booster dose of an investigational DNA vaccine (INO-4800) targeting the full-length spike antigen.

Methods
Three dosage strengths of INO-4800 (0.5 mg, 1.0 mg, and 2.0 mg) were evaluated in 120 age-stratified healthy adults. Intradermal injection of INO-4800 followed by electroporation at 0 and 4 weeks preceded an optional booster 6-10.5 months after the second dose.

Results
INO-4800 appeared well tolerated, with no treatment-related serious adverse events. Most adverse events were mild and did not increase in frequency with age and subsequent dosing. A durable antibody response was observed 6 months following the second dose; a homologous booster dose significantly increased immune responses. Cytokine producing T cells and activated CD8+ T cells with lytic potential were significantly increased in the 2.0 mg dose group.

Conclusion
INO-4800 was well tolerated in a 2-dose primary series and as a homologous booster in all adults, including the elderly. These results support further development of INO-4800 for use as a primary vaccine and as a booster.

"So sure in fact that it’s hard to see the point of your post."

You said (regarding the drop):
"I'm not bothered"

To which I replied:
"I'm not jumping up and down with joy"

So are you saying you are entitled to post but I'm not?
