Indeed Ed. They really are showing intent to fast track Mina do Barroso.

Shame the same can’t be said about Oman ( not that it’s their fault).

It really is full steam ahead for SAV's lithium, they really do mean business. Scoping study after just a number of months of drilling, pre-cursor to the DFS and then development decision. When they said they'd accelerate this project they meant it, scoping study to be complete next Q.

Regards,
Ed.

From this evenings tweet:=

I was going to write that I was beginning to feel ashamed about owning a diesel car when I read the article further down the page:-

Let's hope they get the technology right for EVs and the prices down.

Too kind. It's the company that's the best. I keep playing the Beaufort interview from 5.25. I just love hearing DA's comparisons.

Thanks Ged, on the ball as always. One of the best threads on this site I would say, nice one.

If they could get Oman signed off and into production late 2018 as the price of copper continues to rise , this could be a very under rated multi commodity stock that’s hit the sweet spot in being in the right commodities at the right time...

Ged,

Thanks for the links, good interview, lots more holes drilled since 2017 and now with two rigs and a possible 3rd on the way lots and lots more holes to be drilled. With practically every hole enhancing value. They certainly are busy, development decision and further resource upgrades expected this year.

Regards,
Ed.

Yep, good news. All inferred at the moment, hopefully diamond drilling should move some of it to actual category.

Excellent start, up to 9Mt already and just getting the second rig in. Also Grandao is based on 2/3 of the holes drilled so far and many more to drill over the rest of the year. Its very good to have lithium experts on the board that see the value of early development and the steep demand in lithium to come in the short term. Looking forward to more drilling results and upgraded resources throughout the year. Very strong start from a modest number of holes drilled. Cheers for the links Ged.

Regards,
Ed.

Looks like Portugal could become a world top 10 hard rock Lithium deposit and quickly!
Scoping study for 8-10 Mt likely to be available by mid year then into BFS which will be done by 2019 and into Mining 2020. On top of Oman ( if we ever get final permits) and Moz, this is looking extremely good!

So how many announcements this week?

Full year results.
Drilling results from Mina do Barroso
Jorc resource for Grandao
Amendment to Mining Licence in Portugal
Update on processing plant in Mozambique
Completion of PFS for Mutamba
Fundraising
Mining licence delay in Oman to 2020! ;)
Exercise of warrants

Sometimes investing can be very frustrating. If I hadn't been already, I might have become very cynical!

3 tweets from yesterday.

"Growth in Li-ion battery demand will require fundamental changes to battery raw material industries and attendees at Roskill's Battery Supply Chain Europe 2018 conference in Dusseldorf, March 13-14, will hear first-hand from some of the industry's leading lights what those changes might be.

Martin Steinbild, Director, Lithium Business Development, Savannah Resources plc, will discuss "Perspectives for the Lithium Value Chain in Europe"."

Second tweet(one of my 2 per week):

About cobalt, so why tweet?
"Mr Glasenberg noted that supply was “relatively constrained”, as cobalt could not be mined like lithium, but was a byproduct mainly of copper and nickel."

Third tweet:

"We cannot linger. We are expecting a huge spike in battery demand over the next 5 years: The European battery market will be worth 250 billion euros annually from 2020."

Nice article IB. I'll put it in the header.

Wonder whether the analysts were given a Magic Bus Mystery Tour to Reigoso as well.Mid Nov RNS was expecting final ok's from the Omani ministries by end 2017 with licence early 2018. Would have thought we may have heard that the ministries had confirmed no objection by now, even if the actual mining licence itself remains in the pipeline. 3 months on, Time for an update I think.

Campo de Futebol is about half way between Reservatorio and Grandao. So drilling there should give us a very good indication of how big the total resource at Mina do Barroso will be.

Lagging a little behind the timetable given on page 18 of the October presentation but with the diamond rig now on site perhaps they'll catch up.

Measured JORC by August? Will the Oman licence be granted by then? ;))
