Ged, hi. I suspect that he did not ask it ask he would know he couldn't answer, so no point.SAV don't give timescales anymore and yet, they have said they are looking to go on the charm offensive in January, armed with the imminent EIA. Personally, would expect that before then firstly so that it does actually fit in with the q4 timescale (that they don't give) and secondly, so folk have time to read through. Not much restarts in Spain/Portugal until after Three Kings and the 12th day of Christmas, which would fall due in the first real week after New Year.He seemed to be in explanation mode as far as Oman was concerned but seemed to gloss over the similar position in Moz. Wondering whether that might mean we are about to get confirmation that the licence paperwork and payments are done, with cheques written, signed, sent and cashed.

Thanks IB for both those links.

I can't understand why Andrew Scott didn't ask when the EIA would be completed but according to this article it will be January 2020.

Yet another delay. It does look as though it will be worth the wait. Cogs beginning to move.

Energy Secretary Joao Galamba said last week that the government's goal is to have Europe's first lithium refinery.

Efforts are continuing to place Portugal at the center of the European lithium battery circuit. Savannah Resources Australians are “in talks with various groups interested in financing and developing a refinery in Portugal,” according to the Australian source's official source in response to Live Money. “Savannah intends to produce 200,000 tonnes of lithium spodumene concentrate per year, which may be the basis for supporting the development of a large new industry in Portugal, the production of lithium hydroxide, which is a chemical compound used in the production. lithium-ion batteries ”, explains the company.

According to Savannah, who according to this logic will be the raw material supplier of the future Portuguese refinery, “this could be the first lithium refinery in Europe, which will help anchor the value chain of lithium and electric vehicles in Europe, that is growing fast, ”the guarantee comes after statements by the Secretary of State for Energy to the newspaper Público. João Galamba stated that the Government's objective is to attract to Portugal the first lithium refinery in Europe, pointing to the Port of Leixões as a strategic place. In the same interview, the official stressed that he was waiting for Savannah to present the Barroso Mine environmental impact study to move on to a “serious discussion” with the Australians, who will be the refinery's raw material suppliers. This step too is getting closer and closer. Savannah officials reveal that the environmental impact study, as well as the project's Mining Plan, are “almost completed” and are due for presentation by January 2020. The Ultimate Feasibility Study should be ready by first half of next year.

The Barroso Mine Environmental Impact Study, the company details, will "outline a series of initiatives that will put industry on the path of sustainable mining development, taking into account stakeholder feedback." Savannah also points out that mining will be focused on “sustainable” materials, and that water and energy will be used to achieve carbon neutrality. The Barroso Mine project is a candidate for CERA certification, an EU-funded initiative that aims to ensure the sustainability of mining in Europe. Savannah holds the prospecting and research rights of the Barroso Mine in the Transmontano municipality of Boticas. The company led by David Archer has been in the field since 2017, after signing a 30-year mining concession agreement in 2006. At the end of August, the company told DV that it aims to “obtain the licensing of an industrial unit for the concentration of lithium mineral”, in a project that should create 300 direct and 600 indirect jobs. The Savannah refinery is not the only one in the pipeline to be born in the country. Lusorecursos also has plans to create a lithium refinery in Montalegre, Trás-os-Montes. The project of the Portuguese company, which in March signed a contract with the state for the exploration of ore, foresees the construction of an industrial complex in the transmontana region, in an investment around 500 million euros that could create up to 500 jobs.

Well by the time we get into production we'll be in a midst of a global recession and guess bottom drawer until 2025 and any decent return.

Inbetween which there will be mates cash calls and no battery technology

Thank gawd we have Moz and Oman to fall back on as our bankers !!!!

The question is of course can the Chief Poncho capitalise on the opportunity that is there , or will others show him how to build a company!!

https://ec.europa.eu/commission/commissioners/2014-2019/sefcovic/announcements/speech-battery-2030-conference-brussels_enAs the chosen mine, we could be in the first tranche that they announce but either way, they would seem to be building up towards things. There certainly has been much accomplished in relatively quick time in the pulling together of a pan European supply chain and on the lithium front, SAV is at the front.

I gather they have been at it for around 10 years , appreciate it takes time to grow a company , but to see zero progress overall does not bode well , I have taken a modest punt for the EV connection , with a much larger input into BCN which is well in profit ,so will give them 12 months to come good , serious money is for serious companies only .

Agree Joto and with the regularly hurdles surrounding lithium extraction and in my eyes then its the hardest project to come on line without external issues/public enquiries/enviromental issues/new battery technology etc etc etc ...

Wonder what the next great investment announcement will be and its associated windfall calculations that eventually turn into dust!

Some would say this is a life style company , BOD giving out news to keep the cash coming in and not doing very much to actually grow the company , the main Poncho does have a track record of sorts , but has shown no signs of having the skills now .

Not doing much for the share price of late though

2p again? who would have thought as we near the end of the decade.

Diluted to the heavens and nothing still in production.

A decade of disappointment!

These pages have been up for a couple of weeks now and are a useful addition. Presume the RNS is to try to drive traffic towards it.Meanwhile,https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6602488013207547904Now if we are on the right side of the BG equation then it would bode well. Hopefully the research into the greener li refinery will also help towards this goal.
