Just to mention that Salt Lake Potash will have a stand and be presenting at our huge Mello2018 event in Derby on 26th April and all shareholders and potential investors are welcome to attend

Salt Lake have never attended or presented at a Mello event before and we are very pleased to welcome them so this is an ideal opportunity to meet the management and hear about their strategy.

Do come and join us at this quality two day event and there will be at least 35 other companies to meet each day plus some fabulous keynote speakers.

I attended the Share Talk event yesterday evening in Manchester. It was a very impressive presentation and SO4 is now firmly on my list for further research. The only reservation for me at this stage is the level of funding required to upscale and what structure this will take.

The quarterly update is an epic read. And having read it, I'm actually no wiser. they need an executive summary, with a link to the detail.
Can anyone advise whether it's good news or bad news please? I have seen some cost reductions, so I suppose we must err on the side of good news. But they need to make things much clearer.
Btw, I hold.

Lots of newsflow to come on this one for 2018.

Personally I am expecting we shall see the following:

Institutional Investor buy in (there are II’s holding here already) before funding of demonstration plant

Funding for Demonstration plant (not expecting dilution on this)

Contracts and construction of plant 2Q18

Offtake agreements, if not already announced as part of funding for demonstration plant

Updates on construction milestones.

There are a couple of broker notes worth reading. Based on the demo plant they have targets of 56pps to 63pps, which is a minimum of a bag. But that overlooks a pertinent point. Getting in at this price means more shares for the eventual exit which will be way higher than that one bag, getting in now willl double my profits at the eventual exit price over getting in once it has bagged as I will have double the number of shares.

This one is a no brainer, resource is there, easy extraction, world class management (done it before many times, including 100 baggers), guaranteed market, premium product, I could go one and on.

But given news will start soon, I am expecting some good things starting here….

Forgot to add the Shorecan valuation (below), worth noting this is just for Lake Wells, they have a total of 9 lake beds to extract SOP from (remember SOP is more valuable than the much more common MOP). Given the scale of the resources it is easy to see why a buy out at 20X current m/cap is my target after the demonstration plant is up and running

"Valuation: significant upside potential
Our ‘base’-case post-tax FY2018 NPV10% valuation for Salt Lake Potash is £259m (114p/share FD). This valuation considers primary SOP production at Lake Wells only, based on the lake’s current resource estimate. It does not provide the potential for production of co-products/by-products, ‘secondaryR17; SOP production from Muriate of Potash (MOP) conversion, renewal of SOP resources as a result of brine recharge, or production from the other lakes in the GSLP. "

From Upandover on LSE

I.Hear,

I met Matthew Syme and Jo Battershill, who went through the company presentation, and lots of Q&A.

There were only a few investors there as it was in invitation only job at the company brokers.

A few take away things are:

The company reckon they would be valued at 150pps if the same value metrics currently being applied to SXX, were applied to SO4

A lot of people use the term ‘Potash’ generically, however due to the chemical composition each product is used differently, e.g. SXX had a study done using their product on American potatoes, whereas for SO4, Matthew had just returned from a conference in Southern Spain when I met him, where their target market (part of) grows high value fruit in endless poly tunnels and greenhouses.

There is effectively a cartel amongst the suppliers of the product SO4 will produce, 5 main global suppliers. Matthew thought there was little chance they would get to full production, they will be bought out by a connected company to the cartel.

The premium product they will harvest is far superior to the MOP which is most prevalent

The team, and guy behind this is very impressive, Ian Middlemas runs Apollo Group, which is a stable of mining companies (SO4 is a part of it), so they are mining minerals, including potash obviously, all over the world. Ian has previous for 100 baggers and this looks to have significant multibagger potential.

The management team has a significant stake, their interests are aligned

They have very good institutional awareness and support, mainly due to the reputation of Ian

This is very low risk due to the backing of Ian and Apollo

The overhead in harvesting the SOP, now the pond model has been verified, is very very low, so high profit margins.

There is more, and you guys will know a lot of this, once I have had a chance to read over my notes, I will update.

It appears that lake Way has the potential to double up the size of this mining operation.

Good update in today's RNS: "During the quarter, the Company achieved a very important milestone of completing successful validation of the final major technical foundations for production of Sulphate of Potash (SOP) from the Goldfields Salt Lake Potash Project (GSLP)."

The company is supposed in talks with offtake partners about potentially funding pilot and main project. If we can get some of the major players in the space to endorse the project it would be a huge boost for the company.

Interesting that you can only buy only 3750 on line, anything above that goes to NT...plenty of 25k buys there..i wonder if they're split orders due to online limits? bodes well here and looks cheap compared to its peers like SXX imo.
