11/10/2022 11:38 | Sainsbury's eat from the bowl range.....what ever next...Britain continues to go backwards towards the Victorian times... The traditional British dinner plate is in danger of dying out, as a quarter of Brits claim they now eat most or all of their meals from a bowl, with 1 in 10 never eating from a plate. New research from Sainsbury’s has revealed that over half of Brits (57%) will be turning to heart-warming bowl foods as the darker autumnal evenings set in and the nation continues to navigate the stresses of everyday life. Two fifths find bowls easier to eat from while watching TV on the sofa. One in five people say food just tastes better in a bowl, 26% of Brits will opt for a bowl if they are feeling down or stressed, or if they’ve had a bad day. British classics are also moving off the plate, as 4.7 million Brits admit to having eaten fish and chips and a roast dinner from one. Surprisingly, 1 in 20 have also enjoyed eating kebabs, pizzas and burgers from a bowl. The research also revealed the top reasons as to why a love of bowl eating is on the rise. Practicality for eating, preferring to hold a bowl and creating less mess are just some of the reasons why this method is preferred. 24% also reported their food looks nicer when presented in a bowl. The news comes as Sainsbury’s unveils its new Autumn Edition range. The range offers comforting options which are perfectly served in a bowl. Claire Hughes, Sainsbury’s Director of Product and Innovation, said: “It’s the time of year when our customers are looking to embrace getting cosy and relaxing at home, and this year’s Taste the Difference Autumn Edition range has been designed with that in mind. From a flavourful Tuscan-inspired pork ragu to a hearty butternut squash and sage risotto soup, there’s a wide choice of new products that can be eaten as a warm, comforting meal from a bowl. It’s fascinating to see the shift in consumer behaviour which aligns with a rise in delicious bowl food options at Sainsbury’s this autumn.” | loganair

09/10/2022 19:38 | I believe that Tescos share price was 477p some years back. Surely - even if Sainsburys has lower profits and lower profits wont be down by 33% either - the share price cannot drop much further ?? Shows one can lose a lot money on a solid 100 share stock. £3 to 1.74 in 6 months. A number of share prices have fallen off a cliff of late though. But it looks like that the dividend of 7% may be held over the next 3 years, which will be good if it is not wiped out by a further lower share price. Are we at the bottom or near is the $64 question ?? But then for a dividend share - what about DEC.? | clive7878
