andyj,

Many of the tech valuations are ludicrous and do you see them forever going in the same direction? On the other hand Sage's period of transition won't last forever - and I see an attractive growth company emerging.

Just MHO of course.

Looks like a decent price for the Polish division.

Many shorters are hedging an existing trade. This does not bear the hallmarks of a share being aggressively shorted. A bigger problem is they in danger of becoming a perennial disappointment. In the past five years the tech rally has rocketed most tech shares to continuous new heights. Sage is unchanged, languishing where it was five years ago. The chart could well be displaying a multiple topping pattern, it is unlikely but time will tell. For investors the problem is why buy Sage, with its propensity to underperform instead of a tech fund that outperforms?

The thing to bear in mind about Shorters is that they are guaranteed to be buyers at some point whilst creators of liquidity in the short run. A patient investor can take advantage.

The value of their short is very minor in relation to the Sage total market cap.

However, when investors see Marshall Wace on the short side many tend to take note,

as MW have enjoyed one successful short position after another of late.

We know 2021 is likely to be tough for Sage, it's a case of whether you

consider this is factored in the current SGE price, or not.

if its being driven down by marshall wace, lets hope they suffer the
same fate as those tesla shorters who are being roasted alive on the spit.

Hi Spacecake, I think they should sell off parts of the business that are sub optimal in favour of investing more in the strategic priorities. I agree we do not want share buy backs but have you read anything suggesting it is being considered? I only found the CFO saying that if there is surplus capital, we may consider making additional returns to shareholders.

If Sage continue to sell bits off, how is that helping reigniting growth ?
How are buy backs helping growing the business, growing eps buy cancelling shares is not growing the business, it's growing bonuses for the leadership.
