05/1/2021 10:48 | Unusual - but nothing in terms of share price reaction. And it is a fairly steady, predictable business, it's not as if she was the key to its prosperity. Without knowing anything else, it is what it is. For us, little consequence it seems. | imastu pidgitaswell
05/1/2021 10:32 | Saga is no hunting for a replacement for Agius, with the search expected to take several monthsUnfortunately either the t or w is missing at the end of the no but would be good to know either way | babbo1

05/1/2021 08:25 | Not sure all over 50's could cruise safely in April or May.Over 70's won't all get their first Covid vaccination until mid February, meaning the second jab might not be for another 12 weeks taking it to mid May. Even later for the 50+ groups. Then you need another 3 weeks to build immunity after each jab.Probably July onwards things will look better for the cruises. | tewkesbury
05/1/2021 08:20 | 15p old money on the way guys sell while you can. | cleverinvester
04/1/2021 23:41 | Makes me laugh when poster says as long as Saga customers get Vaccine that what matters...what about the staff on ships?...ships ain't going anywhere until the staff are also vaccinated...and the destination they travelling to also Virus free...and people vaccinated.. | diku
04/1/2021 23:13 | PM claims all over 70's will have received the vaccine by mid-Feb. So again no change in expected schedule. This will have a massive impact as 88% of all Covid deaths are in the over 65's. hxxps://news.sky.com The prime minister said the "realistic expectation" of the NHS was that the top four priority groups could receive one dose by mid-February. That's everyone over the age of 70, care home residents and staff, health and social care workers, and the clinically extremely vulnerable. | justiceforthemany
04/1/2021 20:26 | Cruise sector being crushed in America tonight. And Boris Johnson just announced another lockdown. Difficult to be optimistic right now. | careful
04/1/2021 18:26 | I'm thinking the same now anton. | discodave45
04/1/2021 18:19 | Personally I think this will drop back further, not the ridiculous 10p old money being spouted by a few idiots. That will be the time to top up and sit tight. Re cruise start dates having being involved in the travel sector for many years I can't see how cruises will be allowed to commence in what is just 90-100 days from now when vaccinations are on ultra go slow. Best to expect cruises to commence in the summer and anything before that will be a huge bonus. That's my take on things anyway | antonagis
04/1/2021 18:05 | Agree, end March at 2 million per week, but doubt very much that they will achieve half that rate of vaccinations.......b | discodave45
04/1/2021 17:43 | This news makes no difference to Saga. Cruises were not expected to return before April anyway - no new news here. Target population of over 65's accounting for 88% of all Covid deaths will be vaccinated by March, possibly earlier if govt finally hits their 2 million/week target. | justiceforthemany
04/1/2021 16:56 | Nasty drop today across the travel sector - TUI up on positive comments from Chairman. I'm with Disco, no way all over 50's will be vaccinated by April. | hatfullofsky
04/1/2021 16:54 | I posted this on the other thread 01/04/21 Working Capital Model (10/09/20) expects Tour Operations to re-start at 50% 01/05/21 Working Capital Model 10/09/20) expects Cruises to re-start - 80% load factor Comment - Under the above scenarios, SAGA have sufficient working capital until Sept 2021 | hatfullofsky
04/1/2021 15:58 | James you asked: “Have we seen anything to show they still expect commencement of cruises in April?” So yes the company is taking bookings ergo they plan to sail April/May. But whether they do or not is highly likely to be outside of their control, that’s my point, bookings are one thing whether they sail on time is another. Having reread your post I apologise, think we are actually saying the same thing. | discodave45
04/1/2021 15:48 | This was the point I made to you and your response was "they're taking bookings"...Taking bookings means very little if the dates roll around and the cruises don't actually happen | jamessmith23 |
