22/5/2019 08:53 | I disagree - I'd say the main culprit is the Brexit uncertainty and its going to get worse. I wouldn't be surprised if they were to fall to close to 5 quid next year (basically where they were trading in 2012) if the UK crashes from the EU without an agreement. Brexit creates uncertainty and that is one thing the market HATES. | bor491
22/5/2019 08:39 | The main reason for the price weakness is overcapacity and increasing operating costs, Brexit is a side issue atm (SP wise). It will become more important as we move closer to October. | essentialinvestor
22/5/2019 08:33 | rot in hell Brexiteers I'm glad I've exited. | bor491
20/5/2019 10:25 | Added a few under 10.20, whether wise short term I'm less sure!. Buy back should provide some support. | essentialinvestor
20/5/2019 10:16 | Bouncing - thought it was over done. | time_traveller
20/5/2019 09:21 | Lauda was a bit of a goof! Very expensive incorporation - when was buying a German/Austrian company ever straightforward? If they had waited a bit, they could have snapped up any number of airlines for next to nothing. Into profit next year though - I hope so, cos FY2020 will include Lauda. Ancillary revenues up very strongly - it always amazes me how many people go for the scratch cards! I thought a profit drop of this size was roughly priced in after easyjet's numbers. Oh well, overall I'm still not far off break even, and happy to hold. | time_traveller
20/5/2019 08:43 | Wonder what Norwegian airline figures going to be like, they have eighteen 737 Max planes, ouch. | montyhedge
20/5/2019 08:33 | Would not touch with a 20 foot barge pole. IAG the only one who made money. | montyhedge
15/5/2019 13:25 | I added a few at 10.33, but lower would not surprise me. | essentialinvestor
15/5/2019 13:21 | The max's fuel burn is significantly better (15-20% compared to NG), but I expect Boeing will stump up for the difference, and more. As for the marketing value, I'm sure the average punter couldn't care less what they fly, and history shows the traveling public have short memories or little interest in a type's past incidents when they buy tickets. So far as I'm aware, capacity is not significantly affected for this season, (and meanwhile, TUI, Norwegian etc are affected). | time_traveller
15/5/2019 12:39 | Longer term the Max situation is relevant, as RYA saw delivery of this aircraft as a competitive differentiator re other airlines. | essentialinvestor
15/5/2019 12:38 | I thought there would be another FY guidance downgrade, which has not happened. | essentialinvestor
15/5/2019 12:34 | Getting clobbered due to TUIs 737max headache, even though Ryanair doesn't have them yet, with so far, very limited operational and profit impact from the issue. Load factors have been very good in the last few months. Looking forward to results and I've topped up just now at €10.30 (silly price - list time we were at €10, Ryanair was mired in Europe-wide industrial action - unrest has largely died away with new local employment contracts for many of the crew) | time_traveller
15/5/2019 08:50 | Results 20 May. | essentialinvestor
15/5/2019 08:48 | More than that I hope | albert3591
08/5/2019 10:12 | Mentioned it would not surprise me to see another dip below 11, and here we are. | essentialinvestor
02/5/2019 19:29 | Fair point. | essentialinvestor
02/5/2019 17:40 | but easyjet is also down 3% and I don't believe they use the 737 Max - why are both airlines down | sum493
02/5/2019 16:49 | Spob, yes, the point being he appeared to see this as a big win re competition. They were going to be configured to RYA seating specifications. From memory something like 15% more fuel efficient, plus other benefits. So they were looking at the Max as providing a significant competitive edge over the next number of years. | essentialinvestor
02/5/2019 16:25 | i think that was before he knew about the current situation i dont think you would hear him saying that today anyway none of the kamikaze max have been delivered to ryanair so far | spob
02/5/2019 15:54 | Michael has referred to it as the .. game changer, multiple times, the uncertainty is unhelpful to the share price A US hedge fund initiated a short position in RYA recently. FY announcement soon. I was expecting another full year guidance cut but has not happened. | essentialinvestor
02/5/2019 15:22 | maybe ryanair will cancel its 737 Max orders regardless of any fix, that plane is tainted now and customers will avoid it, if they possibly can or possibly avoid airlines known to use it | spob
02/5/2019 07:29 | Good traffic numbers. | montyhedge
01/5/2019 20:24 | Good old Ryanair on Watchdog BBC again.Voted worst airline 6 years running. | montyhedge
08/4/2019 12:20 | Production also cut on the Max. In terms of that aircraft re RYA, it's a longer term factor. Brexit is what's dominating short term, followed by European overcapacity/seat prices and the oil price at a 5 month high. There looks to be a new short position initiated last week on RYA. | essentialinvestor |
