I'd say most people have done very well. I went short on the indices and a few other shares like BARC, more or less wiped me out.

Last 18 months have been great for me, had a run of very good successes, but the only other share I hold apart from GED is PTR and that is in serious danger of looking like a bad call. I have reduced from 2.75m to 1.5m shares there and taken losses but things are not looking good for the remaining shareholding.

GED (had a nibble below 100p and will buy more if it goes back below)

SOU (will buy if it gets back to 6p, traded this one twice profitably in the past)

GKP (looking to get in at 175p, made nice little run up to 225p last time)

I never been short on any share (boy do I post that a lot!).

There might be a bargain here at some point, that's why I am following the share. Usually I work out some cut price value for the assets and then try and buy at 40% of that figure.

I have a simple rule with this type of share. Do not buy within one month of a new low being made. I would rather miss out on a small rise than get caught in a continually falling share.

FinEx launches Russia corporate bond ETF
Investors in Europe will be able to use exchange traded funds to access Russia's corporate bond market for the first time with the launch of a new ETF in London on Monday.


Interesting FT article noting the expected continued growth in demand for Russian corporate bonds. If correct then one would expect such increased demand to improve the chances of success for a relaunched Eurobond issue by RPO.

mw - some people have raised serious concerns about the P2 figure, which apparently is not approved by the Russian authorities. However, I think what is driving the current slide is the debt. The reserves figures will be irrelevant if they get swamped by their debt.

Yes, but it means if the seller has more to sell, they will be bought at a lower level, that's the essential difference.

Russian prime-minister announced that Russian government's long term price assumptions are for urals oil price in a range of 90 - 110 USD per year and 1% price growth per year.
