19/1/2022 15:02 | Quite a high premium again | spoole5
17/1/2022 21:38 | Who knows how long central banks can pump without really severe consequences, whereby the market loses confidence in them. I certainly don't. It seems like they can keep the plates spinning for now. It is almost inevitable they will come in with the bazooka the next time there is a very severe (more than a correction) sell down. We're almost just playing the FED really. Welcome to the new world. I don't really like the fact that the US has to be so closely watched, nearly all the time and they cast this massive shadow over our shares. It would be so much better if we were more insulated and able to just focus on the UK, but clearly that is the way it works and when they sneeze, we get blown out of the bath into the neighbours garden! I am hoping they don't get too excited and bid the likes of ARK and all these suspect crypto back up to what would look like even more bonkers levels. It could get really ugly at some point then. It would be better to get this valuation reset out of the way sooner imo. The best case would be a continued orderly correction in the overvalued areas, but my viewpoint could be wrong on what is overvalued too! Clearly very divisive stuff. An article today here suggesting ARK is a ticking timebomb! So there we go - a big bang to follow or not? Interesting viewing for sure. Let's see how they move and whether the likes of Bitcoin can hold 40k. All imo DYOR | sphere25
17/1/2022 20:49 | Interesting post thanks. How long can that last? That's the million dollar question. Or I suppose what's made it last so predictably thus far and has that changed? I am starting to feel that a bet that there will be a reasonable reset looks appealing. A bet that it can continue ad infinitum looks less appealing. Atb | beltd
16/1/2022 13:10 | With QT replacing QE, it feels like a fairly major rerate of equity markets is becoming more likely. Personally adding to a good holding in this relatively safe haven, that at times of adversity can make a reasonable appreciation. | beltd
11/1/2022 09:53 | looking better at 300. | stevieweebie2
07/1/2022 12:46 | Nice move up today currently plus 1.4 percent? | lozzer69

04/1/2022 15:45 | Another lacklustre nav update | spoole5
29/12/2021 11:01 | Vastly underperforming rising markets | spoole5
22/12/2021 14:51 | NAV not moved. Not sure what they're doing | spoole5
22/12/2021 09:34 | For those uncomfortable with their strategy, it's explained clearly here: [paid for by company.] | jonwig
22/12/2021 09:21 | Personally I think 190% since 2004 without dividends reinvested and minimal drawdown ain't to bad. | steve c1
21/12/2021 16:52 | So this falls with the market and fails to participate with the rallies. Wealth preservation? | spoole5
17/12/2021 09:20 | They try to be too clever, hedging the hedges etc. Just chips away at the nav | spoole5
17/12/2021 09:15 | Up 1pc this morning but not happy with current performance. PNL and CGT doing much better at wealth preservation at the mo. | lozzer69
16/12/2021 08:31 | May as well be in a pure equity fund at the moment | spoole5
16/12/2021 06:46 | I would like to know also. Was it ex dividend? But December not a dividend month | eh9
16/12/2021 05:25 | RICA was down 2.46% yesterday. That's huge for a capital preservation manager. I wonder which part of the portfolio fell so much? | apollocreed1
15/12/2021 16:37 | Yup. Frustrating performance over the last 2 months given the market stresses that RICA aims to insulate against. Since its recent high, RICA is approx -5.5% versus the FTSE all share approx -1.5%. | bpdon
15/12/2021 15:06 | Wealth preservation or wealth destruction?! | spoole5
15/12/2021 15:04 | It's a bit worse than it looks: last month they took cash at 296.5 when the prevailing NAV was 291. So that should have raised NAV a bit. It's possible that their hedging doesn't operate in ral time, but the market prices they're hedging against do. | jonwig
15/12/2021 14:38 | NAV taken a bit of a beating. | spoole5 |
