I too like the reports honesty, currently, share price down around 5%, which seems fairly measured to me. Overall, pretty happy Hester at the helm, I believe he will turn this around, therefore, I will hold a take up the rights.

Think they are testing the market reaction...hence first the share consolidation news whilst the RI news is still being thrashed out....

The loss at RBS beat their own kitchen sinking estimations. If your going to kitchen sink at least made sure you do it properly. Hope he has here!

I quite like the report actually because of its honesty and clarity.
It is also the typical kitchen sink job normally done by an incoming executive to get all the bad news out of the way so that they are not associated with him and he can later take credit for turning the ship round.
Not sure how the City will react since they can sometimes react in unexpected ways . As for myself, I sold out at a loss on Monday but still have a small option exposure to out-of-the-money puts. No regrets after reading this report.
The headline reads n:"the future is sunny...." . I hope so for you shareholders.
The british floods will recede eventually and maybe you will see the RSA sun again one fine day. Good luck to all here .
