Response to Press Speculation

RSA Insurance Group plc notes the recent press speculation regarding a potential Rights Issue.

RSA is considering measures to strengthen its balance sheet, including raising capital by way of a Rights Issue, however no final decision has been made by the Company at this time.

Further details will be given when appropriate.

RSA's 2013 full year preliminary results and update on the current business review will be announced on 27 February 2014.

rsa is now a dog and only good for trading dilution for p/I fund managers to clean up . they have can wait 5 years it means nothing to funds .

I think you will find quite a few are trading significantly above book value - Hiscox, Admiral, Esure, Direct Line....etc. etc.

However, I do think RSA have been a bit fortunate on timing - they are looking for cash at a very good time. The share price would have been impacted much more in a bear market.

I would suggest all of this is currently discounted in the share price i.e. dividend cut and fund raising. It's only what is not expected that will move the price materially.
