05/2/2014 22:45 | Expect the RI to be soon. May see a small rise first, but you have been warned. Divi cut too soon. | mreasygoing
05/2/2014 22:34 | Why you is no asking bonus?... | diku
05/2/2014 10:38 | Certainly is some interest in RSA this morning...54 mill shares traded already. | optomistic
05/2/2014 09:17 | Happy days chaps. You can't beat mugging the market :-) | sawadee3
05/2/2014 09:00 | 110 is my target .... Before I look to sell and buy back cheaper in the short term ... | keith95
05/2/2014 08:37 | Sounds like a plan wllmherk | rumpy pumpy
05/2/2014 08:25 | I sold 25% of my holding this morning to raise cash for RI. Mr Hester is a good appointment, but, RSA's problems are still there, consequently, I think the share price will fall back after this initial euphoria imo. wllm | wllmherk
05/2/2014 08:23 | The CITY LOVES ITs own. | hvs
05/2/2014 08:17 | ... yes but RH's background is investment banking - so in all probability he will start to shift some of RSA's investments out of bonds into shares at an opportune moment - thus giving better returns in the longer term. Sold surplus into the gap this morning for cash ... so sitting on a good few more shares than yesterday ... :) | keith95
05/2/2014 08:14 | Ah yes, but that was a well known basket case and was "in the national interest" as it were. And he is generally regarded as making a fine job of it. RBS put the polish on his reputation. He wouldn't risk that record with a failure now would he? | rumpy pumpy
05/2/2014 08:12 | Rumpy Pumpy 5 Feb'14 - 08:05 - 7808 of 780 He was in charge of RBS a "basket case" :-) lol | keifer derrin
05/2/2014 08:05 | Best aspect of the Hester appointment is that it strongly suggests that RSAs problems are not as deep or as wide as was feared. He is a city superstar and will certainly have done his homework before taking this on. He wouldn't take on a basket case. | rumpy pumpy
05/2/2014 08:00 | Dope ... the notion that RSA would forever more exist without a CEO was unlikely. The fact that RSA chose to appoint a CEO regarded positively a possibility - Hester was after all jobless. So while the WHEN could not be predicted the over all scenario could because it has happened before. Enjoy your losses ... for today at least. | keith95
05/2/2014 07:41 | At RBS Hester was paid £1.2m, but he is far more likely to earn a bonus at the insurer and his total pay package could be worth £5m by next year. As chief executive, Hester is entitled to a bonus of 80% of his annual salary, and could be awarded share options worth up to £2.85m in 2014, and £2.2m in subsequent years, for "the achievement of stretching performance conditions" - although they would not be available to collect until 2017. While at RBS Hester bowed to huge political pressure in giving up a £1m bonus in 2012, an issue he later said brought him to the brink of resignation. | keifer derrin
05/2/2014 07:18 | Kieth nobody can predict price action like yesterday. I am also sure I can buy at a bigger discount in the future | dope007
05/2/2014 06:20 | Quite simply excellent news. Buy and tuck away .With Hester at the helm , this now becomes an excellent recovery play let alone a bid target. | miti 1000
04/2/2014 22:50 | Dope007 - You could have bought this morning (below last posted NAV) and made 5p or so in a day.... you missed the opportunity .. shame. 94 million shares traded today ... might buy some more tomorrow morning if the gap up isn't too high ;) | keith95
04/2/2014 20:25 | This is really good news for RSA as Stephen Hester is quite obviously a top bloke and very well respected by the City. I think this will really give RSA more time to deal with any funding gap as they are clearly now a much better prospect to attract funding or support. Stephen Hester presumably wouldn't have joined unless there was real potential to turn this around. Sitting much more comfortably now and glad I didn't sell. The final dividend has already gone in my view, unless a disposal is close to happening. That's fine. Hopefully, in a year or two's time things will be looking much better. | topvest
04/2/2014 20:17 | Desperation and sign of bad news to come imo. | cumnor
04/2/2014 19:41 | Major restructuring on the way, NAV 99p at last results. No way would I pay NAV ahead of all the changes and the risk created | dope007
04/2/2014 19:34 | well.. the market certainly like him... | dutch123
04/2/2014 19:09 | Refocusing can be a long and ugly process for everyone including shareholders. In my view, there will be a lot more pain before any gain. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa |
