23/6/2004 15:41 | Am I right in thinking RPS is out of the 350? | rabain
18/6/2004 21:58 | Just came across the chart for RPS. looks like a positive move above the 20 day SMA and that it has a gap to fill to £1.40 and maybe £1.60 if it is to return to the point it suffered the sharp drop from. It has a small spread as well. I look for this sharp move up through the SMA as I have found a number of stocks push on up from this position. Especially promising IMO as it has a largish upside against a small downside. Not bought just yet but looking closely now. | scsw
18/6/2004 19:05 | Bit of financial viagra administered today - keep it up RPS ! Q | quidzinn
02/6/2004 08:26 | Yes, the volumes at the end of last week and the start of this are broadly similar so you may well be right. | toriel
01/6/2004 13:51 | Toriel - I suspect you will find the blocks traded today are buys not sells, the placing of the shares sold last week. | spooky
01/6/2004 13:33 | Another five million shares apparently sold by the middle of today. These are hefty transactions, today's sales alone equating to around 2% of the company. When added to the stock sold last week this amounts to a fairly dramatic unloading of shares. Does anyone know who are the major shareholders in RPS? And does anyone have views as to why big shareholders might be feeling uneasy at present, after fairly upbeat comments from the company recently? As my comment on May 31 suggests, I'm neutral on RPS, feeling that - at some stage - the time will be right to buy, but big sales in the market are not encouraging. | toriel
31/5/2004 09:57 | I agree entirely that institutions don't always get it right. I appreciate also that RPS has admirers - to some extent I'm one of them. I've followed the company for a long time, but have never bought it. I've been a fan of support services for several years, and have bought and sold Watermann, White Young Green and Peterhouse with some success, (and managed to get my timing badly wrong with a more modest investment in Aukett). Companies like RPS are potential beneficiaries of an increasing focus on the environment and several times in the past I've nearly bought into the company. I don't doubt there's a good company tucked away here, but I feel less confident about my ability to predict where the shares of RPS are going over, say, a six month period than some others in the sector. I'll keep watching RPS and at some stage I expect that I'll buy in; I'm just a bit twitchy about both the company and the general feel of the market at present. | toriel
28/5/2004 19:14 | Based on mid-price the share is actually still up on the week, just. Though disappointing that it has dropped from recent highs it has actually held up quite well consdering today's sells, if that's what they are, and is still well up on the price a few weeks ago. It still has a lot of admirers. Institutions don't always get it right, or is that a statement of the obvious. | gaussfactor
28/5/2004 16:49 | I can't agree with 7buttery that we are just seeing the market makers giving a quick shake to knock out nervous holders. Well in excess of four million shares have been sold today in a number of large blocks. It may be, of course, that whoever is disposing of such large lines of stock has misjudged the prospects for the company. However, as a fairly modest investor in the market, I would not be happy to buy at these levels when at least one major institutional investor seems to feel pretty firmly the stock should be sold. | toriel
28/5/2004 16:03 | can anyone tell me what is meant by tree shake | simon01
28/5/2004 15:38 | That's what I'm thinking - the notch down was on tiny volume and most of the small retail sales have been triggered automtically. | alcornwall
28/5/2004 15:24 | Don't worry it's just a M.M tree shake, before the next move north. | 7buttery
28/5/2004 13:07 | Why the sudden drop - been going along nicely. | alcornwall
13/5/2004 14:18 | Hello 125 soon?? | gaussfactor |
