29/11/2017 07:27 | Not to worry, the end of the Hydrocarbon Era is nigh. Without them plastics will be history... thinking about it so will windmills and solar panels... ;-) However, in the here and now, results are looking good! | sogoesit
28/11/2017 13:28 | Spiking ahead of interims tomorrow | nikki40
22/11/2017 15:00 | Yes, there seems to have been a Budget 'relief' bounce! I suppose the fear was that rather than taxing 'waste' he would tax the source, like the 'carrier bag' and 'sugar' taxes. I agree fundamentals look good but they're going to need to focus on disposability in future. | jeffian
22/11/2017 14:03 | this from the trading update on 28th September: 'Revenues in the first half of the year are projected to be well ahead of the corresponding period last year...' 'Group margins and profitability levels (before and after exceptional items) are anticipated to be ahead of management expectations, with profitability levels significantly up on the same period last year...' First half results on 29th November. | mfhmfh
22/11/2017 14:00 | Hammond says he will explore new taxes on plastic waste. 'explore' and 'waste' being the key terms. All IMHO. | mfhmfh
22/11/2017 00:58 | So are we going to use more metal and cardboard packaging as alternatives to plastic then? Digging up more minerals and cutting down trees is not eco-friendly either, even if there were no other users. We've got used to the idea of re-cycling plastics, paper, cardboard etc. so developing it further shouldn't be a big deal. As leaders, maybe RPC could look at waste management companies....'where there's muck there's brass'. See if Mr. Hammond incentivises this in his budget. | cheshire pete
21/11/2017 23:12 | Plastic packaging is here to stay.......The discarding of Plastic waste into the environment is not! | billywhizz1
21/11/2017 23:00 | Hmmmm! "The Ellen MacArthur Foundation report estimates that 32% of plastics escape collection systems globally. Keys ways in which to influence littering include a focus on improved waste management and changes in human behaviour. RPC’s Position Plastic is too valuable a material to be discarded. Littering both on land and in the marine environment is not acceptable. RPC will support initiatives that focus on a reduction in the impact of litter as a consequence of consumer behaviour. RPC will also work to ensure that on site waste management is sufficient in ensuring plastic, in the form of pellets, is not littered. ..... RPC will also work to encourage the increased recycling of plastic items as an alternative end- of-life option to littering." I'm not sure that warm words about encouraging the recycling of plastic is quite the same as "big on biodegradability/sus | jeffian
21/11/2017 20:53 | Above article refers to possible tax on single use plastics. My understanding is RPC are big on biodegradability/sus h ttp://www.rpc-group. | mfhmfh
21/11/2017 16:55 | Fingers crossed for the Budget tomorrow. Price nervousness could be around rumours that Chancellor plans to tax plastic packaging. I blame that Attenborough bloke and his sick dolphins. | jeffian
14/11/2017 21:01 | I'll get my coat... | ewanwhose

13/11/2017 19:57 | I'm starting to get a little concerned. Didn't see anything to worry about in the trading statement but there has been downward pressure since.Haven't come across 'capital Markets' presentations before - seems like a strange thing to do just before the results. | ewanwhose
13/11/2017 17:50 | The Capital Markets Day didn't go too well then! | jeffian

31/10/2017 16:45 | from stockmarket wire: 'Peel Hunt today reaffirms its buy investment rating on RPC Group PLC (LON:RPC) and raised its price target to 1250p (from 1135p).' | mfhmfh

05/10/2017 14:42 | Hit resistance at around 990. Retracing before the bounce back. Should break 1000p at next bounce. IMHO. | mfhmfh |
