27/3/2019 10:31 | against if it goes through so be it | phillis
27/3/2019 10:21 | It's gone a bit quiet here. What are people's intentions re the Berry bid? Vote against or take the money and run? | jeffian
26/3/2019 11:23 | It'll be interesting to see how this goes. Whilst I feel that the offer is fundamentally cheap, there is little doubt in my mind that sentiment in the wider market, and particularly in this sector, is depressed and a failure of the bid would lead to a sharpish - if temporary - fall in the share price here. That alone may tempt some to take the money and run, given opportunities to reinvest in cheaper stocks. I still intend to vote against but I'm not sure others will feel the same now and, of course, we are in the hands of the institutions who will decide the outcome. If the bid succeeds and I'm forced to sell, I'm minded to recycle into SMDS. | jeffian
26/3/2019 10:32 | No doubt to be followed by one or two more amended versions before before the next watershed. | billywhizz1
26/3/2019 07:49 | Latest announcement from RPC re Berry Bidco offer re timetable: | bouleversee
25/3/2019 18:05 | Thanks redart, Interesting to know that if the small s/h's are seeking redress against the incompetancy of the directors, in effect, we're stuffed. | billywhizz1
25/3/2019 17:51 | It is in the hands of the institutional shareholders to act, should they deem it appropriate, as they have the controlling votes. That is until a takeover is completed, when it becomes the province of the new owners. NB. What percentage if cases, involving perceived 'indiscretions' or downright poor performance sees them brought to book, or even very mildly censured? ?0.000001% 'ish. maybe, perhaps..... | redartbmud
25/3/2019 17:09 | Thanks Budgie. I'm reasonably familiar with the options at an annual s/h meeting ie. that s/h's can vote to remove director's before their tenure expires, even without a cause issue. What I'm not sure about is the procedure concerning the ejection of a director at a specific time that a s/h decides is relevant, pertinent to the RPC situation. | billywhizz1
25/3/2019 15:42 | Billywhizz of course there is a legal way - every year the shareholders get a votes on Directors and they can vote them off, as in the recent case of Debenhams | budgiekevin
25/3/2019 13:48 | ask your broker he seems v well informed | phillis
24/3/2019 11:10 | Probably not. The Chairman and CEO at least would have to walk the plank, surely? | jeffian
24/3/2019 09:17 | Does the senior management have the credibility to carry on, if the bid lapses? | redartbmud
24/3/2019 04:59 | Just curious what people here think RPC is worth? I'm long myself and I don't see the offer as being under the intrinsic value of the company based on my DCF model. Anchoring to an share price of 900+ when the company was overvalued does not mean that this is what it is worth IMO. | gabsterx
23/3/2019 22:25 | You don't have to accept it! | jeffian
23/3/2019 21:02 | Anyone placing bets on a new bidder at the 11th hour (except some of us in our dreams)? The current offer is a steal to the new owners. | joh4
23/3/2019 18:36 | #3402 bouleversee, that's because you put brackets round it! Edit out the brackets and it takes you here - | jeffian
23/3/2019 09:58 | I couldn't see anything in The Times or FT about RPC today. | bouleversee
23/3/2019 08:30 | Thanks bouleversee. I tend to use the ADVFN mobile app to get the RNS for each relevant share, as it saves having to go on 14 different sites all the time. Might make an exception for RPC though given the frequency of these updates and the need for filters | cellibomb
23/3/2019 04:33 | So it does but it doesn't quite get you to the right bit of RPC and i cant now remember how I set it up in my favourites myself if not by copying and pasting what was in the browser. Am rather limited in computer knowledge. | bouleversee
22/3/2019 23:49 | bouleversee, ADVFN try to discourage links to other websites but you can easily get round this by changing the 'https' to 'hTTps'. If you click on the edit button on your post and change it as I have suggested, it will reappear as a link. | jeffian
22/3/2019 22:58 | Celli - If you put RPC regulatory news into your favourites ( you go straight to their daily list and the 8.3 and 8.5 are listed and you can ignore but things like directors dealings and holdings in company are shown separately so saves a lot of time. Much too slow to click on all the 8.3 and 8.5 notices separately, esp. since those notification links have to be copied and pasted rather than just clicked on as with most other companies. It will be interesting to see whether the papers have anything about those director sales tomorrow. Edit: I don't know why when I see it here it says https. it comes up on the board after posting as https. but you will have to alter yourself. | bouleversee
22/3/2019 19:00 | Fair Doos bouleversee, should've checked back, my mistake! | billywhizz1
22/3/2019 18:20 | Good spot on that one bouleversee. I've been largely ignoring those Form 8.3 announcements because there are so many of them everyday. Not entirely clued up about that activity either... seems to be a lot of activity on both the buying and selling side either way. | cellibomb
22/3/2019 17:42 | On the other hand some Canadian outfit appears to have approx. doubled its short position to what seems a pretty large number. I am not at all clued up about this activity. | bouleversee |
