European stocks set to jump as monetary and fiscal measures mount

Key Points

The Bank of England on Wednesday became the latest central bank to launch a substantial bond buying program and issue further emergency cuts to interest rates.
Europe has now become the epicenter of the global coronavirus pandemic, with Italy’s death toll surpassing that of China, where the virus originated, and cases rising exponentially across the continent.

European markets are set to open sharply higher Friday after a volatile week, as central banks and governments around the world adopt a “whatever it takes” approach to mitigating the economic hit from the coronavirus pandemic.

Britain’s FTSE 100 is seen opening around 166 points higher at 5,318, Germany’s DAX is expected to surge by around 290 points to 8,900 and France’s CAC 40 is set to climb by around 109 points to 3,965, according to IG data.

Similar picture here, although I have a mix of UK and US stocks along with some very out there wild cards like: CGC, CINE, PDL, CIR, how about you? I'm fairly certain most people have been torn a new one shame I can't add more at these levels

The best thing that Trump could do right now would be to keep shtum and leave it up to the other oil producers to bring matters to a head.

Eventually, of course, the poo will settle upwards, which is why we're all invested.

Another thought is that, although demand (not just oil) is not exactly zinging atm., when the virus tails off and life gets back to whatever normality might be, demand for goods will rocket, if temporarily. That, combined with all the cash that governments are pumping out, could lead to inflation - note, 'could'. Then Shell, and commodity producers, would be good to hold.

So, not a bad bet.

Trump Johnson and the rest of Europe had better have a meeting with the Chinese Authorities as there are no new cases of COVID 19 now reported from Wuhan so how did they do it ? answers please and then put those into practice everywhere else .

According to Forexlive, the basis of the sharp run up in crude prices today is that there were some rumours that Putin has instructed Novak to engage in Saudi Arabia in talks.
