so the travel industry is screwed for this year at least, you dare not book a holiday for next year as you dont know who will go bust this year,
pubs, restaurants public transport can only support space for 25% of the people they can hold and that includes planes boats where you have a two weeks quarantine.
your work place can now only hold 25% of its staff who are to work at home if its possible.
and because people are returning to work, the government will get them off their payroll leaving the losses with all the business out there, and this intern provides less tax back to the government which means the working people will be taxed more as well as having a pay cut to support companies over this period.

Watch all the companies that are going to be filing for bankruptcy now,
Bet Thomas Cook's backer that bailed on them is glad now as they would have gone in this climate anyhow.

All the redundancies that are going to happen shortly.

We wont see life return back to normal until there is a vaccine for this thing and that is still possibly a year away.

Round 2 of the fallout is about to begin.

If your unfit or fat or have an underlying problem you had better not listen to the government when they eventually say you can go out, because its not that you wont get this thing, its you will still get this thing but our hospitals are not over saturated, and since there is no cure and they can do nothing more that give you breathing apparatus then only the few people who are on that border line can be helped.
Up to now NHS Staff are only saving 39% of hospitalised people with COVID-19.
So if you end up in hospital there is a 60 percent chance you will die and the government is not stopping us from dying of this there just making sure you will get in a hospital.

That could be part of it, leeds, but there is much more to it than that. However, I have better things to do with my time....

tfergi only how can we explain Disney they had lost 60% of stock value Friday on reported earnings...I totally agree with buy the dip ingrained but easier to mantain when Fed money is awash in the market more difficult to sustain when profits have and are vanishing in investors eyes that ingrained behavioir I can see will come into play in a very strong way the latter parts of this or beginning of next year right now showing earnings have disappeared is not a good look at all. Apologies your referring to indexes and I'm twittering individual stocks no mater it will all eventually come out in the wash!! ;

Ramco, I think all the indexes have lost sense of reality. It could all still be part of a gain in a longer bear market, or maybe investors are so wired to dip buying large falls and holding out for gains that there is genuine support

If ever there was a self serving, political agenda than that is Sturgeon today. Bitter poisonous individual.

tfergi I am with you in the shorter term because you just can't Ctrl + P profits only just in the relative short term. As I also agree with Smurfy regarding Fed insanity and all that money will eventually have a tidal wave effect current estimates for that wave effect is January 2O21 and boy that will be strong...; until then I can't see how as you state the S&P doesn't find a level well south of here in the interim ;

I believe anyone who is sticking to the official figures to base their view is in for a reality shock the real numbers for unployment are well north of what is those so called official figures and will have their hearts and wallets broken into just as poor old Jazza did...he knew his onions only relied too much on the official speak which required tempering!!

I am always amazed when people claim it's all false news then go and trot it out as fact....?

All of the parliamentarian where screaming over the silence around a plan. Make a plan that is really a stab in the dark depending on the virus behaviour and everyone up in arms again.
Most with any sense expected a flexible traffic light system to start with. It's germ warfare, who knows if it will second spike, if it does show signs the roll it back.
Not sure if schools will open on June 1st but have something in place if it can so everyone can tailor their thinking.
Seems simple to me and I am not a scientist.

Mirror:

Piers Morgan has slammed Boris Johnson's speech this evening as 'disingenuous' and a 'total waste of time'.

Hard to argue with that view, IMO.

Even before the buffoon speaks this evening, the government is being ripped to pieces on social media. Just go to Twitter and spend some time going through the relevant trending tags. Some pretty bad language being used towards the clown and his cabinet, including by the ladies.

Let's see what he actually says.
