11/3/2020 11:29 | A complete aside but an indication of how Covid-19 is impacting. Paul Pogba, he with the Italian agent who uses Pogba's transfers as a cash point running into millions, has been nothing but trouble for the last 18 months, as his agent has tried to persuade Manchester United to sell him, at a knock down price, to either Juventus or Real Madrid. This morning Pogba has announced that all of that was a big mistake and he wants to commit to a future at Manchester United. | leedskier

11/3/2020 11:19 | Interesting info - Norman Smith says that Alison Rose was one of the important women attendees at last Thursday evening's Downing St Reception, where Nadine Dorries was already feeling unwell. Another attendee was Rachel Maskell MP, who has been told to self-isolate by NHS 111 and is doing so. Meantime, no other attendees are known to be isolating, from the PM down and including various Cabinet figures. Big question going unanswered on that at present. Just so that we all know.... | polar fox
11/3/2020 11:16 | I bear you no malice leedskier. All the best. | smartie6
11/3/2020 11:11 | smartie6, you and I live in different time zones. What is early morning for you is mid-morning for me, hence I have a couple of hours to study the markets whilst most in the UK are asleep. That said my son in law, an investment banker in the City, gets to work by 6.00am every day. | leedskier
11/3/2020 11:06 | What’s wrong with people on here only focusing in on what they know or seen but failing to see the wider angle? | smartie6
11/3/2020 11:03 | Leedskier, you need to be a lot earlier to catch the worm. When I posted at gone 2am this morning ftse futures was 60p plus. Maybe you should go further back in time. Lol. How about last month when RBS was at 223p. | smartie6

11/3/2020 10:54 | cfc1, will simply re-invest the dividend on my existing holding but one can't help be incredibly bearish given the Corona virus. Aviva for example is 10%. I most certainly wont be buying anything until the GDP growth rate is clear, which could be negative in the coming quarters. | smurfy2001
11/3/2020 10:51 | Not last night it wasnt. You should have gotten up earlier. Lol. | smartie6
11/3/2020 10:49 | IG Index was calling for the FTSE100 to open down ahead of the rate cut announcement. | leedskier

11/3/2020 10:42 | Have you noticed the reaction to a 200billiom stimulus plan. Ftse at same level as projected overnight. Clearly no one now has any confidence. | smartie6
11/3/2020 10:38 | dont get overgreedy smartie6!!! I am buying as budget breaks and then wait for corona to sneeze through then take gaina nd swithc back to Tesla - who will have terrible Q1/2 results given collapse of car sales and China impact. | cfc1
11/3/2020 10:37 | cfc. Yep end of the world! | maxk
11/3/2020 10:25 | REalism looks to be setting in. All gains now gone and back in the red. How far on todays news, I guess we could be looking at under 100p in the near to short term. DYOR. | smartie6

11/3/2020 10:08 | Tomboy, completely correct. Interesting to see how many SMEs can produce their own cash flows. Even if they can, on a short term basis how do you establish what your sales will be if Coronavirus doesn’t slow and lasts longer. Even if in 3months sales start improving and approaching where they should be for some of the SMEs conversion from sales to cash could be a further 3months if not factored. Your talking about banks acting as lender of last resort for over 6months with little to no data on a best case scenario in isolation. | smartie6
11/3/2020 10:01 | The influenza of 1918 killed up to 100 million people. What lessons does it offer for our current health crisis? | smurfy2001
11/3/2020 09:55 | One thing is clear the market is going lower and the Corona virus will get FAR FAR worse. Nearing 120K cases in no time. China and Italy imposing order on their citizens is going to impact the world wide economy. Who else is next to declare citizens remain in their homes? No wonder shelves are emptying out. The rate cut is like putting on a plaster to a gut shot wound. | smurfy2001
11/3/2020 09:54 | Well Carney had finished - Initial thoughts - trying to slow a car crash that will probably happen - (forget all the other stuff) Air bags not working - See ya - | tomboyb
11/3/2020 09:40 | 2m ago 09:37 UK economy is stagnating NEWSFLASH: Britain’s economy failed to grow in the last few months, showing it was weak even before the coronavirus struck. quelle surprise - | tomboyb |
