22/10/2019 13:40 | not sure why you say this is a tech stock polar fix although I take your point on this stock being overbought after a little run. A lot depends on what happens in parliament in next few days but I hope that RBS might get to 260 in time .( chart resistance) | arja
22/10/2019 13:13 | arja, I warned last Thursday, that the techs were becoming overbought. Trading since then has pushed them into clearly overbought territory and it looks to me like some indications of them turning down are just becoming detectable. | polar fox
22/10/2019 13:03 | RBS struggling today after a bright start and must be fear of an a NO DEAL or less chance of a PV sadly . May also be the uncertainty if a GE comes | arja
22/10/2019 12:59 | Couple of tweets from LauraK: No 10 source says, 'if Parliament votes again for delay by voting down the programme motion, and the EU offers delay until 31 Jan -- then we will pull the Bill, there will be no further business for Parliament and we'll move to an election before Christmas' Whether this makes any difference to the voting numbers tonight is hard to know.. will the threat of election make MPs more likley to back the 100mph timetable? Enough anger in Commons at the pace it doesn't seem like it but we're a long way to go until vote after 7pm unquote | polar fox
22/10/2019 12:46 | Another interesting tweet from TND in the past hour: Now it’s getting tense. Downing Street sources suggest PM may pull the entire WAB if the program motion falls tonight. Program motion only ever defeated once before, on Lords reform in 2011, and bill pulled then. Would he really, or is this brinkmanship? We’ll see at 7.15pm. unquote If pulled, the BBC thinks the buffoon could try to go for a GE again. | polar fox
22/10/2019 12:28 | Nick Boles has tabled an amendment to the above, along these lines: Tom ND tweet: If Govt don't agree, some v tricky amendments - such as this one tabled by @NickBoles - could force the concessions. Makes a transition extension automatic if no FTA agreed by Dec 2020. Boles says he already has the support of key swing Lexiteers, eg Onn, Snell and Kinnock (4) unquote I believe the extension would be for two years from 12/20. | polar fox
22/10/2019 11:35 | For those following today's concerns about section 30 of Withdrawal Bill due for its second reading today ... this is the section... | leedskier
21/10/2019 12:24 | Today's HoC schedule: 2:30pm Oral questions Defence (including Topical Questions) Speaker's Statement The Speaker plans to make a statement on proceedings on the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 Motion immediately after Defence Questions. Motion Section 13(1)(b) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 Adjournment Further education provision in St Austell unquote It looks like Bercow will make his Statement after 3:00pm. Edit: LauraK saying after 3.30pm | polar fox
21/10/2019 10:24 | Norman Smith believes, like many, that Bercow is probably going to refuse the MV attempt this afternoon. He also points out that the HoL cannot be forced to sit at weekends - he expects them to take their leisurely time and, therefore, Oct.31 is very likely to be missed. We'll see. | polar fox
21/10/2019 10:22 | sumrfs soz - yep - you are right....so if only 3.5 and no special then they are not competing with other banks on divi and others. | cfc1
21/10/2019 10:13 | We got interims paid last month. | smurfy2001
21/10/2019 10:07 | smurfs...but dont we get an interim expected on thurs this week - finals is next feb? | cfc1
21/10/2019 09:44 | The market maybe happy to run it up ahead of the results and decide its direction of travel in Thursday's pre-market auction. | leedskier
21/10/2019 09:44 | Another day when the entire portfolio is up. @cfc1, you mean the final dividend early next year? The last final was 3.5p plus 7.5p special. I'd assume 3.5p minimum for the final assuming they don't pay another bonus. | smurfy2001
21/10/2019 09:10 | Why is RBS up ? Because passing the deal will happen? Or just due to the extension (which does not solve anything)Or do they think labours possible amendment to keep the customs union will happen?Very surprised RBS is not down | tfergi
21/10/2019 07:28 | Wonder if Smurfs is still on this BB - useful poster. Wondering what the Interim divi might be for RBS with results on thurs | cfc1
21/10/2019 06:48 | RBS retail chief Matheson to quit after turbulent decade RBS is to conduct a wide-ranging search for a successor to personal banking CEO Les Matheson, Sky News understands. unquote The story doesn't say much more. | polar fox
21/10/2019 06:30 | How much will RBS drop today ? | tfergi
20/10/2019 15:43 | Plus the bank has really just been drifting along for the past few months, without effective management at the top level, IMO. Hopefully, next month will begin some improvement in that regard. Big picture, if No.10 is taking the country down a road that results in a No Deal exit at the end of next year, why should the economy do much more over the coming 14 months than over the past year or so? For example, if you're a Japanese car manufacturer, why would you want to remain in the UK, now that the sense of direction is becoming clearer for all to see? The buffoon, obsessed with leaving on Oct.31, has a revised deal which, I suspect, 'gives the shop away' and he is doing everything possible to ram it through with the minimum of scrutiny, aided by a bunch of incompetent liars. We'll see how it develops in the months ahead - no choice, unless you emigrate! | polar fox |
