I assume that if the report had said that there would be no negative impact, the Breiteers would have been lighting candles to it.

Eurosceptic MPs have called for a leaked Brexit economic impact assessment to be "pushed to one side" because it is "highly speculative" and the timing of its emergence is "highly suspicious".

The assessment, drawn up by the Department for Exiting the European Union, suggests that the UK would be worse off under all three of the “off-the-shelf” post-Brexit scenarios that it modelled.

Leading Brexiteers have dismissed the report and said it should be taken “with a pinch of salt” because such forecasts have proven to be inaccurate in the past.

They should have followed the advice of William Hague. He warned the party that bringing the issue back to life would (once again) tear the party apart.

They need to shore up the hole, and replace the captain, who is surely steering the ship onto the rocks.

Replacing the Captain is not going to stop the ship sinking. It is holed below the plimsoll line.

Fed rates announcement tomorrow after London closes and the market seems to be pricing in a rate rise with a stronger $ and consequent fall in the markets yesterday.

As London is joined at the hip, it looks like there could be a couple of days of this.

Surely the woman has to go?

Sky:

A spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May says "there remains some distance" between the UK and EU on more than one issue over the UK's transition deal.

From Sky. I suppose we're going to get a lot of this:

The European Union has taken two minutes to adopt its negotiating guidelines on Britain's Brexit transition period.

Brussels' deputy negotiator Sabine Weyand said the EU is offering a "status quo transition without institutional representation" from March 2019 until the end of 2020.

The EU insists that the UK should continue to abide by all of the bloc's rules, such as freedom of movement, which includes any new ones introduced during the implementation period.

What chance if the S&P500 falls at the open that the FTSE100 will follow?

It is a matter of how they spin it.

Compare and contrast:

When the retired Commando Army Captain and now Tory MP, who was being asked a range of personal questions in a light hearted local radio interview, was asked if he had ever taken drugs, he replied "You do not put diesel in a Ferrari".

... with ...

Tory MP denied he had ever taken drugs.

[Incidentally this is a true case]

Never ceases to amaze me how myopic these 'expert' analysts are with their currency comments They completely miss the fact that it's dollar strength against both Sterling AND the Euro which might, just might, have something to do with the fact the dollar fell nigh on 3% on trade weighted basis in a matter of 21 days - one of the fastest drops on record. The move today has squat to do with Theresa May's incompetence over Brexit or otherwise
