09/6/2017 18:06 | A sign of her weakness is that she has not dared move any of her top 5 Cabinet Ministers. Rudd, BJ, Fallon, Hammond and David Davis all in exactly the same posts. 9 junior ministers and one cabinet minister failed to get re-elected so they haver to be replaced. A NI Constitutional issue of some importance has arisen over the DUP alliance. which over the coming days may cause the Government real problems in respect of the requirement for it to remain neutral on the question of the NI Government. | leedskier
09/6/2017 15:48 | strong and stable lol probably good for the city though. | gcom2
09/6/2017 12:37 | Brexit Secretary David Davis today admitted the Tories could have lost their mandate for a hard Brexit deal in a disastrous election blunder. In remarks that will infuriate Brexit supporters, Mr Davis said the loss of the Tory majority can be seen as a rebuke to plans to quit the single market. | leedskier

09/6/2017 10:35 | The deal with the DUP kills off any hard brexit agreement. As commented earlier the DUP requires open border/trade with Ireland. The story from the DUP is that N.I. does not want to be treated as a 'special case'. They are saying that TM has agreed to that demand. Ergo, the entire UK will have have the same deal with the EU. | leedskier
09/6/2017 10:29 | Theresa will be enjoying a pint at lunch time 'phew'. | smurfy2001

09/6/2017 07:40 | The hat and sash brigade will insist on staying part of the customs union rather than the single market, which will leave them open borders. That's if the EU agrees... That anyone would want to leave the customs union anyway has always beggared belief. | largeronald
09/6/2017 07:33 | Steve73, that is the whole point. The EU will but only as part and parcel of the UK remaining a member of the single market (not EU) with all the requirements that that will impose on the UK. | leedskier
09/6/2017 07:17 | leeds - I'd have thought the UK would support open borders & free trade with Eire - it's the EU that wouldn't. Perhaps it's time for Eire to think about where its future lies.. with the UK or with EU...! | steve73
09/6/2017 07:00 | The equities market traders currently appear to be sanguine about the result. That may be because hard brexit is now dead in the water, with the DUP already saying that their votes require open borders, free movement and free trade with Ireland. Without the DUP's 10 votes the Government will not merely be hung, but will be drawn and quartered. Will TM stand down? Cameron did not lose the 2015 election. To the contrary he won it with a working majority. But he resigned because the UK voted to leave. How can TM hold her head up in Parliament or in Brussels when she has just given away the Cameron majority and is now dependent on DUP votes? | leedskier
08/6/2017 22:55 | They'll win, but lose at the same time. Such are the fortunes. Short of a miracle, May is gone, but it has happened, look at the brexit vote...all was lost, until it wasn't. | maxk
08/6/2017 22:41 | Conservative to win, just sayin the obvious. | smurfy2001
