StockMarketWire.com - PRE-OPEN REPORT: The headline index is tipped to open over thirty points higher this morning, according to financial websites, as investors turn more optimistic over US budget ceiling deal....

US & ASIA

In the US last night, the Dow rose 64 points to 15,301, the Nasdaq added 23 points at 3,815 and the S&P500 gained 7 points at 1,710.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 23 points at 14,428 and the Hang Seng ahead 133 points at 23,352.

WTI crude oil traded at $102.41 a barrel and Brent crude at $111.04.

Gold settled at $1,276 an ounce.

LONDON MARKETS

In the corporate diary today, interim results are due from Lombard Risk Management.

Final results are scheduled from Bellway, DotDigital Group, Fusion IP and Utilitywise.

Trading statements are expected from Burberry, Carpetright, e2v technologies, Hargreaves Lansdown, Rio Tinto and Telford Homes.

CIC Capital, LXB Retail Properties and Sacoven host their AGMS.

gcom is having problems with what is reported as market cap with his no. of shares in circulation not tying up...you have posted previously on numbers involved which explained the anomaly...recall it was to do with additional shares issued which went under the radar, he claims to have missed that post...was asking that you pls put him right on the figures involved....;

Jazza, pls put gcom out of his misery, given your normal reliance on them know you have them to hand....you may also wish to redress your view on earnings as thus far ad bad as q1, way off where you surmised they would be at this stage..;

Leeds, it has been reported that Goldman gets what Goldman wants...which is a short term debt level deal or what I know as an extension....;
