Yes -- they should be concentrating on the UK economy. But as NigeL Farage said this morning "" will they change" NO they still have not understood the message and the Lib Dems in Government are in my view one of the biggest problems.

Some News comment in Sunday Times this am on RBS. gets an input on Three pages including comment from Hestor. I even believe some part of the media are beginning to recognise that RBS is close to its restructuring goal. Given that there
is some back off from Politicians and regulators. Merv is specifically mentioned as the mouthpiece of Doom & gloom which is hindering UK industry and growth.

I would have thought the views of UKIP were now more relevant to Government policy than those of the LD Party.

Now that RBS is solidly profitable and increasing its loan-book, time is firmly against those who would have it broken-up.Hence the increased noise in the media.Sorry guys, it's too late..

Thanks to ZIRP:
Mum & Dad are pushed to work past 65, hence fewer openings for graduates
Mum & Dad have to financially support generation Y through college and while
the graduates wait for an opening that pays good money
Because generation Y have to wait five years more than baby boomers to form
households, and because houses are articicially high, Mum & Dad have to work
to help pay off their mortgage.

aspers - you got it right. The market is corrupt. some 2 million buys posted after close tonight at average price of 2.92. .Most of Europe had plus day. RBS held down for buys below book price. US again closes at record high.

When the govt sell their RBS shares, am I correct in thinking there will be a large dilution due to the "B" shares ?

You know that makes sense because no sense makes sense.

I'm adding on Citizens float.

%20 sell is going to re-assure the market on the capital ratios (basel iii).

i do not understand your logic.
that is the short term game when investing these days.
understanding how markets work, even the tricks used.
..get it right and there is money to be made.

it will look very suspicious if there is a rally in RBS next week with no new news.

If anyone believes that bit of spin ... which is the third explanation I have heard today for dropping the price (to screw those with long spread bets on the sp) ... they should not be invested in London markets.

On the downside, shares of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) shares tumbled more than 5%. The bank said it swung to a first-quarter net profit and will have largely completed its restructuring in 2014. That paves the way for the U.K. government to start paring down its stake in the bank. But shares fell on concern about future plans for the bank.
