You need to look at TTH legislation which will help understand that they will not make a loss on decommissioning as that is why the law was enacted. It's a backstop to force companies to extend field life.

Yes but others think it will bounce back to $40+ this year and some say it will trade at $10. Perhaps It will perhaps it won't. All I know is the whole oil world has cut production, stopped capex and supply will be less and US shale in a bad way. All of that says price spike up when demand finally returns. Patience not panic the key here. Gas price very important too going forward.
