02/10/2008 16:45 | based on chart in OZ, more likely to go to 50 cents than 150cents unless oil price picks up - sad situation. I could not get a firm quote from etrade to sell today and they are hopeless at times ! | arja
02/10/2008 16:13 | on second thoughts , are these analysts living in real world. 150pence !! I thought it was 150cents which is maybe possible in distant future ! | arja
02/10/2008 09:12 | hope he is right about 150 target! But analysts are analysts and I am a cynic nowadays ! | arja
02/10/2008 08:44 | From Daniel Stewart:- Nexus sale of AZA stock Roc has announced that Nexus is to accept Roc's bid for AZA taking Roc's holding in AZA to 89.64%. It is expected that the deal will reach the 90% automatic redemption on Monday 6th. We estimate that the fully AZA acquisition will give Roc 2P reserve of around 45mmboe and production of 20,000bopd by 2010. The enhanced cash flow from the BMG operations, plus the reduction in planned exploration, will make Roc a strong cash generative business. We would not be surprised to see Roc to begin to divest its portfolio as two distinct areas are now defined within its portfolio, namely UK/North Africa and Asia. The UK and African production is an obvious candidate for divestment, although we would expect the Equatorial Guinea and Madagascan exploration to stay in the existing portfolio. We maintain our buy and 150p target. | cwa1
02/10/2008 07:40 | not so sure about it. Hit a low of 91 in OZ which was a TENTATIVE support level but recovered to 94 at close . I have a nasty feeling that this one could challenge 90 again and go south from there . Hope i am wrong and 90 is the bottom but who knows in present market conditions . sometimes companies with a good cash position keep going down if directors pay themselves handsomely as is almost the norm in OZ . I lived there a long time and know that well. good luck but I am tempted to cut my loss . | arja
02/10/2008 06:30 | Down another 5%. Gryphon is right, this will sort itself out. | poo bear

01/10/2008 07:36 | opened at 109 in oz and then drifted down to 100!! a real pain with oil price recovering but had no effect on ROC. I just bought on uk market at 51.5 on monday - fool !! | arja
29/9/2008 10:47 | Unfortunately everything will suffer when the market is rocked by the Financial gyrations of Banks. | poo bear
29/9/2008 07:48 | looked like it was recovering but back to 112 in oz which is lead market! So maybe downtrend not yet broken but hope I am wrong!! | arja
25/9/2008 22:26 | ah yes thanks GG, my breakeven point in roc is now 66p | markfrankie
25/9/2008 20:43 | The time has come, as I said it would. Thinks are on the up and up with ROC. I predict the share price moving up steadily to about 75p over the next few months provided we get some sense of stability in the Dow. | nloughlin
25/9/2008 09:10 | Suspect not. My portfolio at Barclays is showing up ROC shares, and AEL has been dropped from the ADVFN monitors. | goodgrief
25/9/2008 08:45 | GoodGrief - 22 Sep'08 - 18:37 - 633 of 641 "The AIM listing for Anzon will be cancelled from Sept 23rd." Quite what they mean by "from" (rather than "on"), I don't quite know. 24/9/2008 08:41 | Hi Square, yes they are still looking for their own elephant. They do have a license in Madagascar, however I am aware that there are environmental issues for most oilers there. A couple of years and they will have 20kbopd, which will keep them healthy, the hedging finishes soon and oil is not likely to get cheaper than we have recently seen it. I think them being bought is the only answer to be honest, of course everyone says that about their particular oil co investment, but this reminds me of a few that have fallen under the microscope in recent years, i.s steady cash flow, good production assets providing that, and some decent explo, add well under NAV and soon would not be too soon. Enough rambles, as always time will tell. | poo bear
24/9/2008 08:33 | Morning Poo Bear Angola does seem to be a white elephant. Would have like to see it succeed both for my investment and as a farewell to Mr Doran who had faith in the area. Still possible 150m heavy there. So we don`t seem to have much on the horizon that is company making in the short term. Regards | dr square
24/9/2008 06:58 | "Roc Oil has declared itself a takeover target after its share price fell last week to levels unseen since it listed in London in 2004." Must have read this board. They are one of many in the same postion, however the Chinese and Austrailian assets would single out them above others to the Chinese for instance. Another non commercial from Angola overnight, not looking too good there, only appraisal wells left to drill now. | poo bear
23/9/2008 22:27 | Roc Oil wary of predators as shares decline Published: September 23 2008 00:05 Roc Oil has declared itself a takeover target after its share price fell last week to levels unseen since it listed in London in 2004. ... Earlier this month, company broker Oriel Securities calculated the net asset value at 137p a share with core value of 87p. Oriel said: "If the market fails to recognise the company's fundamental value then a predator might". | goodgrief
23/9/2008 11:21 | that 50000 thats just gone through as a sell is a buy from earlier | 282928
23/9/2008 07:08 | This one seems to have made a bounce and no longer needs my nursing so I will let it get on with it on it's own. Up again today in Oz and I am sure recovery for now has started.(possibly maybe perhaps?) | poo bear
22/9/2008 18:37 | "The AIM listing for Anzon will be cancelled from Sept 23rd." Quite what they mean by "from" (rather than "on"), I don't quite know. | goodgrief
22/9/2008 18:33 | goodgrief, seems we are in the same boat, on the good side roc seem to be a far more fluid stock than ael, when do we get converted into roc? i havnt heard yet. good luck with our new venture. | markfrankie |
