Insurance companies make a profit by attempting to ensure that the aggregate of all the premiums they receive plus investment income exceeds the aggregate of all the claims they play plus the costs of running the business, an objective they frequently fail to achieve. Within those aggregates there will be many individual policies that make a "profit" and a significant minority which make a "loss."

Is the fact that insurance companies are trying to make a profit a good reason not to insure my house?

Interesting. Some more of the upside and some more of the downside have been removed. RKH is hardly risk free but undoubtedly a very different proposition these days. Both the extreme bulls and the extreme bears are looking a bit out of place.

Tories ?What do you expect ?TheChessMasterPosts: 649Price: 13.95No OpinionRE: FITVToday 20:54There's been some very important changes since then Buffit, most notably the UK Government will no longer support new fossil fuel projects . This is blow to Navitas as it has made funding a project in disputed even more difficultBackgroundIn December 2020, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the UK would end its support for fossil fuel projects abroad. This was a major policy shift to help the UK transition to low-carbon energy.  UKEF's roleUKEF is the UK's export credit agency and has a history of supporting oil and gas projects. The 2021-22 financial year was the first time UKEF did not provide support for any fossil fuel projects overseas

She's not saying whether or not ??She misspoke, like the Labour MP about P and O ??She was correct though ?They are a set of Barclays ?Tell them to P and O??Johnson did it every week ?Is this positive enough ?Phew ?Teslyn Barkman, a member of the Falklands Legislative Assembly, told the Express that around £750 million would go directly to British companies during the first two phases of development, as well as creating over a thousand jobs for locals.A Falklands government spokesperson also said: "The matter of development of the natural resources of the Falkland Islands is a devolved matter and is for the people of the Falkland Islands to decide."

Like when the Rockhpper Director recently said the biggest impediment to FID was funding, you don't use that kind of language a few months before FID without good reason but its taboo and no one other than me has mentioned this important statement.
