Darlogayboy. You are one serious bell end. Just like Fakey aka Noboil aka Arlington chewmysausage. Why pretend to be 4-5-6 people when everyone knows? Very simple yes you are. Ps. I’m not selling my 4 billion shares for anything less than £3,000 a share. Easy money. Good question. What price will the shares be at 13.33 on November the WGAF???

You've presumably heard of the South Sea Bubble ???

Sam Moody & Rockhopper Exploration is the South Atlantic Bubble !!!

The Falklands Islands has been talked-up as the next big thing in oil exploration terms many times in the past. Industry giants, including Exxon-Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell, explored without luck in the 1990s, and there was another flurry of interest in 2010 when a rapidly-rising oil price sparked an UNSUCCESSFUL prospecting rush.

A number of small A.I.M listed oil exploration companies including the now defunct Desire Petroleum, along with Falkland Oil and Gas, Argos Resources, Borders & Southern and Rockhopper Exploration all raised money from investors that foolishly believed untold riches awaited.

Hopelessly optimistic comments started appearing on investor bulletin boards (including ADVFN) with many saying Britain’s willingness to fight to reclaim the Falklands from the Argentine invasion in 1982 was the only proof needed that large quantities of oil and gas could be pulled from the South Atlantic.

This proved to be extremely poor judgement and after that initial frenzy, the oil price collapsed to under $40 per barrel and quite rightly the City of London turned it's back on oil exploration around the Falklands Islands.

Since then very little has actually happened in terms of extracting Oil and Gas from around the Falkland Islands leaving shareholders in Rockhopper Exploration PLC very much out of pocket.

Recommendation: AVOID

Seriously though, are the backstory here and the likely endgame scenarios going to dictate what the share price does in this Q3 2022 moment in the undoubtedly chequered history of RKH?

Not after that raise.

Time to take a fresh look at the balance of risk and reward?

Your call.

Was that a rhetorical question ?

Samuel J Moody is the one responsible for emptying Rockhoppers cash reserves to feather his own nest.

It's now 40 years since British Forces liberated the Falkland Islands

It's also 18 years since Rockhopper acquired drilling and exploration rights in the North Falklands basin

During which time, Rockhopper Chairman Sam Moody (pictured above) has been receiving a massive annual Salary and Bonuses for doing what exactly during those 18 years ???

More importantly - EXACTLY how much Oil and Gas has actually been extracted from the South Atlantic since 2004 ?

The answer is: None, Nil, Nada, Zero, Zip, Zilch !!!

But Moody has managed to mug off all you RKH shareholders for 18 years.

To correct an earlier inaccuracy from georgeo1:

Rockhopper Exploration PLC is required to pay an annual fee in the region of £1 Million per year to the Falkland Islands Government just to retain the drilling and exploration rights in the North Falklands Basin.

The drilling and exploration rights are definitely not FREE and gratis.

Providing the F.I.G receives that annual fee, Rockhopper retains the exploration rights and before anyone wants to argue about it, it's recorded in Rockhopper's Financial Accounts.

This SHOULD serve as a warning to Rockhopper Exploration shareholders
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Shares in Desire Petroleum collapsed after the explorer said a key drilling prospect off the Falkland Islands contained mostly water, not oil.

Further analysis of deposits showed that the Rachel North well in the North Falkland basin contained mostly water.

Sampling of the main sand showed that the hydrocarbons were residual and the mobile fluid was just water.

The test well was then officially plugged and abandoned.

It is also worth noting that both Exxon-Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell, two of the world's largest oil companies stated that the Falkland Islands contained INSUFFICIENT hydrocarbons to make exploration and development profitable.
