05/5/2017 09:10 | If sterling even make half way to its all time high . Rio is tanking Just remember a year ago sterling was 1.45 and that was considered lower . If it even reaches there all bets are off Rio will Return to 20 quid . Just look how nasty the recent fall has been No matter what the brokers say this is heading down . IN MY HUMBLE OPINION NON FARM PAYROLLS TODAY | robrah
05/5/2017 09:06 | Dollar earners like RIO do better, UK share price wise, when sterling is weaker against the dollar! | nasdaqpat
05/5/2017 08:46 | Dividend Investor It's not rocket science. 1) Find the best businesses. 2) Buy them at a good price. 3) Own them for a long time. 4) Add more money regularly. 5) Don't panic. 6) Sit back and collect the dividends, often of the fully franked variety. | christh

05/5/2017 05:02 | Iron Ore closed @ $63.40mt yesterday, down (06.07%) from Wednesday's $67.50mt. Copper traded @ $2.512LB yesterday, down (01.26%) from Wednesday's level of $2.544LB. Once again these metal price declines affected RIO's share price as it dropped a further (01.77%) yesterday (2962.5p:2910p). At yesterday's closing level, RIO's share price has now declined (21.74%) from the intraday recovery level peak of 3718.5p recorded on 13 Feb 2017. Since 3718.5p, RIO has put in 4 minor rallies or Phantom waves, the last of which was worth 6.1%; from 3002.5p on 18 Apr to 3185p on 21 Apr. It remains to be seen whether yesterday's intraday low of 2886p will form the base for the next (Phantom) wave. If it is, I fancy the share price will improve about 07.00% equating to a target of c3088p; whereupon I will likely reduce our holding. | nasdaqpat

04/5/2017 17:00 | For nearly last 3 -4 years rio have being trying to boost copper production but it has had no success. They even made the CEO the copper division the CEO of rio tinto . But this year's production too is weak | robrah
04/5/2017 16:28 | Yes, I did know Copper was less significant for RIO (only about 5% of Revenue?) and more significant for the likes of BLT but, although the company itself still considers it to be important, maybe I'll drop the copper price from my early morning posts in future. | nasdaqpat
04/5/2017 16:00 | Rio is not big on copper . If you like copper. Glen and blt (ftse listed ) are the big boys Iron ore is tanking and sterling is stonger . The worse case for rio . It could even reach 22 quid. Still holding my hedge have got a stop loss at 33.target 1 _ 25 quid | robrah
04/5/2017 15:48 | There are 2204.62 Pounds in a Metric Tonne. I have found plenty of sites that list Copper prices in LB but the LME deals in Metric Tonne. It might be helpful if collectively we decided which measure to cite on this thread. What are people's preferences? | nasdaqpat
04/5/2017 15:37 | Picked up some more at 2905 ; now bought back all my £32+ sales. | wad collector |
