Why is it s t t you spend so much time here talking about rhythmone a share you do not hold even posting midnight on the weekend when totally PLC and their call centres are going down the pan with MPs looking into them and making enquiries and you don't even want to talk about all the negative news flow they're over the last few months are you trying to distract away from that investment or is it a pump and dump share for you

Sometimes it is useful to compare 2 companies in the same sector, so how do 1R stack up against Taptica?

Not well unfortunately. Taptica have chalked up $38m in Net Profits over the last 4 years versus $146m in Net Losses for 1R/Blinkx.

Over that time Taptica’s revenues have increased three fold while 1R turnover has only gone up 20%. Taptica have more than doubled their real bottom line net profits whereas 1R are still racking up losses.

Curiously 1R gross margins are slightly better all along, begging the question where did Taptica’s profits come from?

From lower costs it seems, the ratio of Opex to gross revenues is 20 percentage points lower for Taptica, 30% versus 50% in their latest accounts.

Perhaps Singer is hoping for major cost reductions, although he certainly was very determined to dodge that question during the recent conference call, contrary to what Rupert the Bear implied.

Seems posters on lse think industry changes/challenges are less revelant to 1R than TAP's results.. really..

RE: Re:Tap resultToday 11:42

Adri,

"Stt, i would have thought the conclusions you draw from industry wide news or numerous other news are far less relavant to R1 than news of Taps results, aren't they? "

No, rthm run a FULL stack, so I would have thought industry changes/challenges were more revelant to them.

TAP and their larger competitor The Trade Desk run just 1 side... Therefore, any news affecting 1 side of the supply chain could affect one part of rthm.

Tremor sold their DSP to Taptica a year ago for around 1/3 of revenue.
The Trade Desk concentrate on the one side.

According to these articles...
Tremor reasons for selling their DSP.. perceived conflict of interest

"Clients were also uneasy with Tremor servicing both the buy- and sell-sides."
"“There’s always been a little bit of friction because we were selling agencies and advertisers different products while we were representing publishers,” Zagorski said. “And the people who plug into that sell-side platform would always be somewhat hesitant to commit to it in a huge way because we had that perceived conflict.”"

"The Trade Desk, which has seen its stock skyrocket post-IPO, consistently cites its single-side, agency-focused approach as a key to its success"

"One reason many cited for AppNexus’ struggles is that running both a buy-side and sell-side business leads to competitive conflicts. DSPs will always wonder if the company favors its own demand (a complaint consistently levied against Google that led to header bidding). Plus, working with ad networks, an area AppNexus focused on, leads to conflict because buyers and sellers see their businesses encroached on or conflicting with these middlemen."

"Many companies that tried to run ad tech businesses on both sides later have sold one side off: Rubicon shut down buy-side platform Chango, with then-CEO Frank Addante admitting the acquisition was a failure. Tremor Video just sold off its buy-side business to focus on the supply side. Amobee sold its sell-side business to focus only on the buy side. The Trade Desk, which has seen its stock skyrocket post-IPO, consistently cites its single-side, agency-focused approach as a key to its success."

Billion dollar questions for Suranga - from Jan 2018

"Suranga Chandratillake OBE will present the keynote at the The Cambridge Start-up Billion Pound Scale-up Challenge at the Bradfield Centre, on Cambridge Science Park, on February 1."

Congratulations on your OBE for services to engineering and technology. Was it a surprise?

"“They send you a letter six weeks before the announcement (in this year’s New Year Honours) but there’s no warning before that and I’ve no idea who nominated me. It perhaps came from some of the work we did at blinkx..."!!!!

Do you hanker for a return to the front line yourself?

“No. I’ve no plans to get back in the short term. Entrepreneurial business is driven by an irrational need to succeed and I don’t have that today – I don’t have that particular fire I want to put out.”

"“At blinkx we had a great idea and we learned a lot, about how you finance the next stage of growth. You need a good team around you. It’s actually mostly prosaic but we struggle with it."

Sikh,

Depends on the start price really. If it's somewhere around the £3 mark after a post TU rise, then more than happy.

Would set us up nicely for £5+ next year.

Looks like the large trade yesterday may have been holding the share price back for some time!

Nice to see £2.00 broken on positive buying, although still very modest.

Following their recent dilution I think Tosca will be wanting to get back to just under 30% before the October update.

Do you think up 3% will be a nice read across when it comes 1R's H1 results..

And as someone said here he hasn't got an original thought in his head even now copying my posts how's it going techy if you can't beat and join?

It did let slip one thing today, Blackrock he must of got hit really hard by them as that was who rebased is investment on and kept on topping up thinking they were investing while all along they were the ones lended at the shares so the company could be shorted must really hurt him hard that he's become this bitter

Why would old "sikh gets locked up?" Get locked up loaf? Can't be because he owns no shares in the company and puts that lies that have to be removed by administrators is it? Or could it be that he posts 365 days of the year non-stop even first thing on the weekend and almost midnight on Sunday slagging off the company when he has no financial position in it, or could it be that is emailing who he thinks are sympathetic posters here to set up a covert gang to bash the share which was exposed only last week about is devious practices.

To be honest I can't see what he's doing wrong! Seems like a jolly good decent chap to me and just a little misunderstood here by honest decent people
