You bulls just don't get it do you

PRICES are rising and inflation is now going to be an ISSUE going forwards

COSTS are going to go UP

get it ?

The market gets it ... hence the chart shape

The market will tell in time when a bottom has been reached , meanwhile the chart is looking hard to find one , but with headwinds now getting stronger companies with staffing cost problems and in the case of this now EX Growth stock , that are contracted to open another 6 new bars this year are going to find increasing COSTS are going to make make matters worse NOT better

In other words the profit model is now BUST

Bolton has now closed pubs/bars from 10pm.If other cities follow, and whole regions guess that will mean RBG will be back to closures? Can't see the point of staying open if they need to shut at 10pm.

Revolution Bars spins higher as trading comes in ahead of expectations, boosted by ‘Eat Out to Help Out’

Since reopening its first bars on July 6, the chain said its sales performance has been “higher than indicated” in its previous base case in early June, which had predicted sales at 55% of 2019 levels

Revolution Bars Group PLC (LON:RBG) shares rose on Thursday as the group reported that trading following the reopening of some of its bars has been ahead of its expectations, boosted partly by the UK government’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ (EOTHO) discount scheme in August.

In a trading update for the period following the first reopening of its bars on July 6, 2020, the company reported that comparable venue sales in the eight weeks to August 29 were 72.5% of the prior year.

Sales in the first four weeks of the period to August 1 were 60% of last year, however, Revolution said during the period of the EOTHO scheme sales had increased to 77.5% of last year’s level. The group also said EOTHO has been “a big success” in the last four weeks of the period, driving Monday to Wednesday comparable venue sales to 188.4% of the level seen in the previous year.

Revolution said the sales performances were “higher than indicated” in its previous base case scenario in early June, which had predicted a reopening in August and sales at 55% of 2019 levels. As a result of the boost from EOTHO, the group said it will continue to undertake the scheme at its own cost through September.

Looking ahead, the company said, as of August 25, 39 of its bars were operating, with a further 10 reopening this week and another 13 planned to reopen on September 7. This will leave 11 bars that the company said were unlikely to reopen until social distancing restrictions were relaxed further.

Meanwhile, the company said it is focused on reducing costs whilst its trade remains constrained, adding that it has agreed rent waivers with landlords for 23 of its venues and is in discussions regarding another 16 of its bars which it said “could reach an acceptable outcome before the September quarter date”.

However, due to the company’s focus on reopening venues, engaging with landlords to resolve outstanding rent issues and bringing its staff back from furlough, Revolution said its annual results are not expected to be announced until the end of November.

"Having opened two-thirds of our estate I'm pleased that these bars have outperformed our base case scenario assumptions, however, sales in the 8 weeks since reopening commenced remain 27.5% below last year despite the assistance of the government's 'Eat Out To Help Out' scheme that finished earlier this week. We have more openings planned during this week and next but will have eleven bars that are very unlikely to resume trading until there is a further relaxation of social distancing measures and late-night venues are legally allowed to reopen. Overall, the Board's expectations for the year ahead remain unchanged”, chief executive Rob Pitcher said in a statement.

"We would welcome an indication from government as to their inclination to assist in the grave issues that exist with commercial rental arrears and the moratorium that is due to end on 30 September 2020 as well as an indication of further financial support for the late-night venues sector that remains closed by government order", he added.

Shares in the firm jumped 5.2% to 15.3p in early deals.

Thought this would be doing better with the EOTHO scheme but I guess the majority of their business if not all are wet bars?

Maybe, but I know the younger crowd always have their own extra Xmas party away from the oldies, Revs caters for them. It's just a matter of time, even if this goes up to 40 again which is a long way off where it came from it's over a bagger. I've poped a few quid in here for the hold to Xmas. Expecting a nice bonus from it.
